I was wondering about their ADN program.

Anyone?

I have completed just about all my pre-nursing courses there and plan on applying there and reapplying to OSU/OKC in the fall. I have enjoyed every class I have taken. I have always heard they have a good program. I know several nurses that have graduated from there and have great jobs today. My brother who is also an RN started there and later transferred to OSU/OKC. Good luck!

Can you do the pre-reqs online for that school?

I believe there may be some pre course workyou can do online with the exceptions of the science courses. I completed all of my pre-reqs on campus, with the exception of micro, which I am enrolled in now. What classes do you need to take? Are you planning on taking the entrance exam this fall for entrance into the spring semester? I got your private message, but I can not send messages yet or do not know how to reply. :)

I'm not quite sure what I wanna do lol My daughter has a interview there the 22nd of this month and I think I will talk to them then about the Nurse program and what all I have to do. I just worry about the math the most..I am not good in it.I mean I am sure that I want to be a nurse I just gotta figure out everything. If I do take it I have to take Eng Comp 1&2, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Elements of Psychology, Intro to Sociology

A&P with Lab, Intro to Micro w/lab, General Chemistry 1 w/lab,or General Chemistry (lab inclusive) Developmental Psychology

Thanks Sliver, I knew I read something on that somewhere! I need to get busy!

Tricia, a lot of those classes can be taken online. I personally need a classroom setting. I took Algebra I after being out of h.school for 16 years. I will not lie, It was a struggle all the way through, but I did Waaaay better than I imagined. Trust me, if I could do it, anyone can! LOL. It would be nice if the math program requirements could be taylored to what is functional in the nursing world, unfortunately we have to do that awful algebra before they let us into chemistry! Funny thing, in chemistry all we needed to know was how to add, subtract, multiple and divide in very simple problems! Good luck on your goal and stick with it. I am hoping to get a slot into Redlands or OSU/OKC. At Osu I have a nutrition class to take that they require. It will be my first and only online class YIKES! I have two younger children and completed all my course work at night. I think most programs would like for you to have all the pre-course work done before applying, they do not come out and say that, but everything is based on a points system. Grades and test scores. The more classes you have done the more points you get. In my case, I want to be able to focus just on the nursing courses when or "if" I get in! :) I know nurses that have graduated from both prgrams and had nothing but good things to say about them.

Do I have to be a LPN before I can go to the ADN program at Redlands?

No, it is designed for existing LPN's to apply to the program and for people who have never had a day of experience in health care. The only advantage that LPN's have is they can Clep out of a semester of beginning nursing courses.
