2013 OU ABSN Applications

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

I know from reading previous posts there were a few others that were applying to the OU ABSN program. I just turned my application in about two weeks ago. I'm hoping to be accepted to the Duncan program. My husband and I will be moving back to the Lawton area at the end of August. We are currently in Alaska with the military.

I know I have been worried, especially since the website has not updated the site with the most recent student stats. I would like to know what the last batch of grades looked like compared to mine. Nothing I can do now but wait. Maybe we could all keep each other sane here =)

December now?? Oh brother....guess I'll go ahead and apply to TU just in case.

Duncan students- did you guys get that second letter today? It talks about orientation and says that the start date is January 14th!

Yes I did! I'm glad we don't have to wait much longer to get started! Now we just have to fork over the money and get the to do list done!! :) I'm excited!!

Me too! I had my varicella titer and tb test #1 done today! I just have to get my other vaccination history in order! Any idea what stethoscope, shoes and watch you are going to get for clinicals?

So we have to get 2 tb tests done? I'll probably get the Littmann Classic Stethoscope that they offer. It seems a little more heavy duty than the lightweight one. I'm not really sure about shoes yet, probably just something comfortable and all white. As far a watch, I think we can do anything so I'll look around Target.

The health form says 2 tb done within 6 months of each other so I guess unless you happen to have had one you have to get two

target has cute watches for $10. Cheap enough to get a few!

Do we need a digital or analog watch??

I think an analog watch.

I love Target watches!!

you'll need a watch with a second hand to count respirations and heart rates. I'm not in the OKC program, but I am a CNA in Tulsa (waiting on my letter from ou tulsa!) and a digital watch won't be much help to you during clinicals.

Great thanks! I'm looking at the timex weekender watch and nike free run shoes...anybody have these and like them or not like them??

Thank you for all of the information guys!

Carlygh: My sisters husband has a pair of those shoes and he loves them. He said they are really lightweight and comfortable!

Now that we got accepted, it seems like everything is happening so fast!

Jenndavis: are you going to be living on/near base? My husband is in the military, so I will be living in Lawton and commuting to Duncan!
