OU (OKC) or OCCC?

My suggestion would be to visit both, meet with a counselor, or go to an admission seminar. They have different pre-reqs and admission standards. Going to OU will get you a BSN and OCCC an ASN....so it depends on your current situation and goals. I'm at OCCC and like it. I have a previous BS so I'm happy with the ASN and the cost was way less. the Community Colleges all cost way less-true. My 2 years in the core nursing program (not counting pre-reqs or books) will cost around $3000 & other schools are about the same. State and private universities range from $20,000 to $50,000. OCCC & OSU-OKC both have high NCLEX pass rates too. If you are done with pre-reqs and other courses....go with your gut feeling because with the associates you can do the BSN anywhere, online even.

Um...Isn't that pretty much any nursing school?
I haven't heard any complaints from OU grads that I haven't heard elsewhere.

OSU-OKC is a great school!!! You might consider it as well (not to complicate your decision any more) I love it there!!!!

I am doing my pre req's at OCCC right now and so far everyone that I have had contact with has been great. I have two friends who graduated from there and they both loved it and highly recommend it, I also have a friend who graduated from OU and she absolutely hated it, she wants her masters but at this point does not want to go back there. It definitely is your personal choice, but from other's recommendations and my own interactions my choice was OCCC.

I would also recommend OSU-OKC. It is a 2 year A.A.S degree and you will be able to take the NCLEX to become an RN. It is one of the top nursing schools in the state, and it's relatively affordable, too (somewhere around $90/credit hour not including books and some of the other standard fees). I'm in second semester of the nursing program at OSU-OKC, and I love it. It is a very competitive program, but completely unbiased being that it's all based on a point system. The instructors are wonderful and will literally bend over backwards to help you succeed. I am very proud to be earning my degree from this school

In all honesty, I'm not sure because it is only offered as two seperate classes at OSU-OKC, which is where I took both. Call the nursing department and ask 945-3210. They'll be able to tell you right away.
