How long did it take to hear back from OSU for their BSN program from the time you submitted your app and transcripts?

Lindsey, do you mean OU (Ohio University) or OSU (Ohio State University)? This is an OU thread, so if it's OU, we can answer your questions. :)

Thank-you!! It was late! Yes, I mean OU!! Thanks!!

The time I submitted my application to OU---Ohio University was August 2011 got official welcome packet (official acceptance) in December 2011. It took a while. In the meantime make sure all your previous transcripts are in the system. Otherwise you will be delayed further.

Thank-you EmJeanRN-

Really appreciate the response. Seems like they are a little delayed. I put mine in around March. So it will be awhile. In the meantime I am doing stats and looking into doing Nutrition. Thanks!!

I applied in February last year and got my acceptance many weeks afterward and had to be content with starting the program beginning with the second summer session. If you look through the basic OU thread (which now has close to 2,000 posts) you'll find lots of information about the admission and evaluation process. My understanding is that the admissions process hasn't changed all that much but the evaluation process is now shorter and smoother.

I think that you'll find that even though there's a lot to complain about regarding the front end of the OU process, the university does a good job with transfer evaluation. I also think that most students are reasonably satisfied with the program.

Good luck and be patient.

Chuckster-

Thank-you for your reply. I have read some great things about the transfer evaluation and that they are very reasonable. Also, OU seems to be a really great place to obtain your BSN in realatively a short amount of time. I look forward to hearing from them and getting my life back on track!! Thanks again!

I graduated from my ADN program Dec. 11, 2011, I applied to OU around Dec. 20 ish, 2011. I received my acceptance letter (email) February 28, 2012. Started my 1st class on March 26, 2012. So things moved pretty quickly with me. I'm still waiting for my transfer eval, but I heard it can take up to 10 weeks.

I applied in June of last year and did get the acceptance e-mail fairly quickly; I started classes in Fall of last year. However, my DARS (transfer evaluation) was not completed until March of this year...that's almost 9 months (which, for the record, is ridiculous, in my opinion). That said, as chuckster mentioned, the evaluation was very fair, and I ended up needing to take about what I thought I would (with the pleasant surprise of not having to take the cross-cultural class requirement).

So yeah. If you can wait a little while, they do get there in the end. The format is convenient and you can't beat the price, which is why I've stayed.

Thank-you both evieinco and Always_Learning!!! I applied in March so I anticipate I will hear something around late May to early June. Hope all of your classes are going well? What's your favorite class thus far? Worse? Why? Thanks!

I had applied in October to start this past March. I got my acceptance like early February. So it was close to 4 months before I heard. I wouldn't look so much at time, as hearing a month or two before your start date.

I have found most of the classes interesting and enjjoyed them to some degree. However, I am taking Community Health right now and I can't WAIT to be done. It's not that it's not interesting; it is. It's just that it's 5 credit hours (most nursing classes are 4), and it's a LOT of tedious work. But hey, one advantage to these classes is that they are done in 5 weeks...only 2 more to go! :nurse:
