The Ohio Board of Nursing recently made changes to licensure requirements that included the mandatory addition of a clinical experience into Ohio University's curriculum. Due to this change, we have had to temporarily discontinue offering the RN to BSN completion program to residents outside of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Michigan, and West Virginia.Because of these changes, we will not be able to admit you to the RN-BSN program at this time. If we have made a mistake and you do reside in one of the above listed states, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can work with you to reopen your application.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused you and the delay in your education. A refun... d of your application fee will be sent to your home address in 8 to 10 weeks. Your application will be kept on file in the event that we are able to reopen the program to residents of your state.

If you have any future questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our office.

Wow! I had read something on here a few weeks ago about the Masters program doing this but now they are doing this with the BSN program now, huh?

The person that posted this had 'applied' to OU in august and hadn't heard anything for 3 months, she emailed them as to what the hold up was and that is the reply they sent her. She lives in california.

This is awful! I hope everyone who has taken even one nursing course at OU is grandfathered in. I am so sorry for you. So glad I am almost done with that place

Does this apply to people who live out of state and are almost done with the program? I still have 4 classes left and I live in North Carolina. You think they would have emailed us or something?

I would assume folks like us who are well into the program would be excluded. I suspect the SON will receive hundreds of calls this week. What a mess...

I do not know who it 'applies' to. I think if my advisor knew anything about it would of not told me to take classes i asked about, but then again you never know! . Again this was on the ohio BSN facebook page and this person applied in august and hadn't heard anything and that is the response they sent her.

Wow! I have four classes left, and since I was able to register for spring, I'm hoping it doesn't apply to me. I'm in Colorado.

Glad I am done. Those already enrolled should be exempt from these requirements.

I emailed the school of nursing about this. I'll post here if they respond.

I'm in PA and have 1 nursing class left and 3 general classes. I will be furious if I wasted time and money and those classes don't count. I'm pretty sure they can't do that though. Sounds rather illegal? I am sure the people who are already enrolled will be exempt. At least i hope so!
