Nursing Students Ohio University

Hi,

Wondering if anyone else is enrolled to start January 2013. I'm getting excited but also a little anxious about what the pace will be like. Thought I'd connect with others who are just beginning the OU RN to BSN experience!

I'm enrolled in 4510 starting today. Best of luck to all of us. It looks very fast-paced already!

Im in the 4510 course too

I am still on the fence. Suppose to start in feb 4510 but a lot of posts are really swaying me at this point.
What you have to realize is that this is a large program, and just like everything else in life, one negative spreads like wildfire, while the positives might stay hidden. I have only taken 3 courses so far, and although there have been some bumps, I feel that the program has taught me a lot and the grading has been fair. You might need a little patience to get through the bumps of the change from quarters to semesters, but I have found that although there have been bumps, the instructors have been gracious and willing to make concessions for late assignments, etc, due to changes. The nice thing is that once you have taken one course, you get into a rhythm, they all are set up basically the same. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't let the negativity sway you. There are plenty of positive things in the program, and if you hunt the good stuff you might actually love it. Good luck with it, by the way, I'm sure you'll do great!

Thanks ohgirn. Just going to go in with a positive attitude and see what happens!

So who all is still in this class? I am surprised this board has been so quiet for this class!!! Well, I have to say it is not quite as bad as I thought after the first week. I still can't read most of the announcements, is anyone else having this problem? It may just be my section, I don't know, but the TA is aware.

I totally agree, I am on my 7th class and although it was hard to get started in the beginning each class has gone smoother, the switch to semesters left some classes to be less desired, hoping they have worked out the kinks, I am now in Family nursing and feel they have already bettered the class since fall!!! Good luck to all !!!!

it's so quiet because we are all writing our papers and posts, or trying to at least ;)

Hi,

Still here! Yes, very fast-paced but the beauty of that is you can see the light! So far things seem well-organized and like koolmaditz says, if you get the hang of it you can manage. How's everyone doing?

Though I'm still waiting to officially graduate, I finished the program last year. As you can easily see, I've posted more than a couple of gripes about the program but on balance it is pretty reasonable. Maybe even worthwhile.

Best of luck to all those starting out. Things will go by quickly, I promise.

Whew! Got a 19 out of 20 on that iap paper. I had no idea how that one would go. This week looks a little easier! Last week that paper was all consuming

Am I the only one discouraged with this class so far? I was hoping for an A, but I guess I will just be happy if I pass. :(

Hi,

I think it just takes a while to get the hang of the TA and what he or she wants. The workload is intense, but what they seem to care most about is if you've hit the points on the rubric. Also be careful about your APA formatting. I hope it gets better for you!
