PRCM...3250

Is anybody else dying over this class?? I officially hate it....of the grading, that is. The TA is accusing me of not addressing the question for the DB. I clearly did in my last paragraph. What is with this harshness???

I am so glad that I found this web site for this crazy a** class in which the teachers grade way to harshly and unjustly! I am glad you are getting max points. What section are you in so that I can read your post, maybe that will help me understand what the heck they want.

Thanks

So far I have received full DB points with comments including "Excellent discussion" and "Great Participation." I find it freeing to be able to brainstorm and submit my own ideas based on my life experiences, without being confined to a reference and citation that does not involve what I would like to convey. As for the DB rubric I have hunted high and low for this on blackboard for MY class and it does not exist.

So, I will stick with what is working!

This thread was originally created for Business Communications (PRCM 3250) in the academic outreach program....not sure what it is now because we are speaking of different things. I have quizzes every week.

I have quizes every week too and thank god for them. If it wasn't for the quizes I would be failing that damn class. Get A's in everything else, some how I am to stupid to pass a business communication class. Go figure.

I am in Business Communication with Prof F. Apparently it is a whole different animal than the other Business Communication class. So, I can be of no help to you.

In it also with professor F. Very doable, but the C.C. project is very confusing. Of course, pulling my hair out with this one. Overall, like the class.

I am looking for the class that meets the Jr. Comp requirement. Am confused with what I am reading here. Are there two different ones to choose from and if so recommendation for which one? Thanks!

They are the same class, different instructors. Some of us choose our classes through academic outreach and some through bsn completion. The classes are the same, but run differently with different instructors. The class is business communication.

very different class indeed!

So you are saying the one through the bsn completion program is better?

michelemybell,

I am taking Business Communication and Intro to Ethics in the academic outreach program in the summer. Is the communication class doable with another class? Are there weekly papers and DB postings along with the weekly quizzes? I was hoping for a 5 wk class but so far no luck.

Yes it is doable. Remember, it;s spread out over the semester. There are weekly quizzes but they are not times and can be taken multiple times (I'm up to 4x some weeks!) to achieve the score you want. the assignments include journals, memos, and discussion boards....not all at once, lol. A typical week will have a quiz and 1 or 2 of the other assignments. You'll get the hang of what they want. PM me if you want more info. I can elaborate on the memo/journal.

Intro to ethics. Fifteen weeks spread out with a short read every week early in the week followed by a test/quiz. Three longer tests but not bad. Then a discussion question is posted midweek and you write about it and respond to two peers. Workload is not unbearable and actually moves slow but concepts initially can be confusing. Don't let the first 2 weeks discourage you. Definitely doable with business comm.
