Ohio University RN-to-BSN Program - page 133

Since it seems that there's quite a bit of interest, I'm attempting to start a new thread devoted exclusively to the OU on-line RN-BSN program that will hopefully build on the comments on assorted... Read More

Rio Salado is either 8 or 14 weeks - but GO at your own Pace -- that being said, I finished the 8 week choice in 5 weeks with an A I had never had any stats before and their book is very well- laid out for learning!! Just walk through the examples. I also have the book available if anyone signs up at Rio - PM me

    Question:

Have any of you applied and been accepted before you passed NCLEX? I spoke with one of the reps a few months ago and asked if I needed to pass NCLEX before I applied and he didnt seem to have an accurate answer for me.

I graduate in June and hope to take NCLEX by August at the latest, but I wanted to get the ball running on applying to RN-BSN programs.

Call the school directly - I have taken classes with people that had not taken NCLEX - they were still in the ADN program and were taking BSN classes as well. It may be on a case by case basis - but it can't hurt to ask! Good luck!

I got my acceptance!! I'm starting end of March. It actually wasn't too bad. I applied in October, and am finding out with over a month before classes start. I called about a week and half ago to check on things, and got an email response about 2 days later. Then my acceptance came today.

What was the site you guys said you rent your books from?

OT, but what browser do you guys use? I can't post if I'm on Google Chrome. It won't even load the post comment box. So I have to log onto IE just to post here.

Congratulations!!! There are several rental places mentioned on here....campusbookrentals, chegg, and ecampus. I find renting to be easy and affordable. I also use Firefox as my browser.....never have a problem with it. This thread has really been a lifesaver fo rmost of us for several reasons!! The support is awesome.

Thank you. The first class is the one it's best to buy the book for? Because it's used in a later class? I know the welcome pack says to not sell that book back because it will be used later. I'm excited, but so nervous. I'm pregnant so nervous to go back now, lol.

I know this thread is a huge support. I never even would have known about or applied if it wasn't for this thread. I was going to go with a different school, so happy I chose this one.

Google Chrome crashed on me last year and took my computer out with it. Had to reboot from the factory settings just to recover it. I have been using IE and don't have an issue with it. Have heard some people talking that they have issues with some of the other browsers and EPIC and Blackboard.

Congrats. I think you'll find that the program is mostly tolerable, if not particularly interesting subject matter-wise.

Most folks here are tired of hearing this from me but I almost never buy the version of the book suggested by the syllabus. Instead, I buy the previous version, usually for pennies on the dollar - rarely more than $10, sometimes for brand-new, unused books. Case in point: I just paid $6.99 plus $3.49 s/h for a new copy of the 2nd edition of the text for the Gerontology class (the 3rd edition is what the syllabus called for and I think it was $49.99). It's a bit of chance but there is usually not a great deal of difference from one edition to the next. YMMV.

I use Firefox for AN with no problems.

    Good luck in the program.

I must say KUDOS to all you working moms and dads in this program (or any back-to-school program) for being able to juggle life's demands all while studying and writing papers. I SERIOUSLY don't know how you do it!!! You all must be exceptional students with a great organizational skills. I spend countless hours doing my work with little demand at home(understanding husband luckily) except for 3 long work days. I just had to say that!!! You are my inspiration :bowingpur

Yeah, I can't use Google Chrome for anything on OU, it's not a supported browser. I think I'm going to download firefox again for school stuff.
