I was figuring I would do the intermediate Algebra or whatever it was, then take stats. Just do both through Rio Salado. But I also need Chemistry. I'm horrible at math, so as much as it would suck to take an extra class, I figured it would only help me with the 2 classes if I take the algebra. I'll just be happy if it's less than colege algebra, lolthanks for the tips! I know the stats is an 8 week class too. Had it all planned out until the algebra thing......none in college.. Oh well, I just may end up taking it here.
- Feb 22, '12 by michelemybellQuote from Simply ComplicatedNeither of my advisors said I needed algebra. If that is the case then I will be taking it at OU....against my will lol. I've gone over my DARS twice with them. I"m down to a total of 18 classes (hopefully)!!You don't need the prereq if you take it from here? - Feb 22, '12 by mtsteelhorsewoohoo! so you can take stats without pre-reqs? I wouldn't think you'd need algebra for a stats class...but take that class alone if you can. 18 classes will go faster than you think...esp. if you can double up on some.
- Feb 22, '12 by Simply ComplicatedQuote from michelemybellHmmm. I know when I did my Associates, I had to do 2 prep math classes to get to college level. So I wonder if I would not even need an extra math class to take stats then. I will have to check into it. Maybe I should just suck it up and do it through OU. Atleast then my financial aid will pay for it. If I have to do it through Rio Salado then I have to pay out of pocket.Neither of my advisors said I needed algebra. I think stats is going to suck no matter what. I figure I'll end up paying for a tutor, lol
Thats great you are getting down there. Are you doubling up at all? -
- Feb 22, '12 by michelemybellQuote from mtsteelhorseThat's exactly how I feel!!!!! But cannot is Rio requires a prereq. I need to take stats by the end of the year.I'd take stats at the easiest place!
- Feb 22, '12 by michelemybellQuote from Simply ComplicatedNo plans to double up yet. I will for the music class since it is and easier one!! My advisor is hopeful I will only need the 18 because of the switch to semesters and the change in credits to 120 from 192. We shall see!Hmmm. The first 3 assignments were hard, after that, it got much better. I did not realize the course was open a few days early, so I did not get to take advantage and get a head start like many others did. It would have made a big difference for me.thanks for the tips! I know the stats is an 8 week class too. Had it all planned out until the algebra thing......none in college.. Oh well, I just may end up taking it here.
- Feb 23, '12 by deltaroxxy2Boy…When I took it my professor sent and email stating that student were STRONGLY advised to start looking over the course work and starting on assignments prior to the class starting. Stated that the teacher/TA couldn't answer questions until the OFFICIAL start of class, but student could still do the assignments. I have like 4 assignments done by the time class started, so I always felt a bit ahead. Talk about a HUGE RELIEF...
- Feb 23, '12 by Simply ComplicatedDid you guys have to have College Algebra then at all? I don't know which place would be "easier" But I know Rio Salado is a bit longer of a class I think, you can just work ahead. A 5 week class does sound better, especially if you get to start early.
