Does any one have any idea about this ICP project? I am stupefied. I have no clue what is going on. Read the instructions no less than 5 times. I have no idea what subject to choose.

Pick something you already know a lot about. Trust me, that will make your project easier to write. For example, reducing the risk of falls, increasing patient aftercare compliance, or reducing medication errors. I can't remember all the specifics but I did something along the lines of outpatient resources affecting readmission rates. I came up with an additional questionnaire upon admission that assessed pt's resources (transportation, finances, family support, education). Hope this helps!

The key is to have a topic that interests you, and that has lots of research behind it. Did you do okay on week 1? I'm just starting the week 2 portion.

Thank you so much for replying. I chose to go with a medical daycare where my mentor works. This project is not easy. I am suprised at the difficulty I am having with it. I do not know whether it is psychology because this is my last class and I feel the pressure to get an 80 or above. Or maybe I do not understand what I am doing in this class.

I did ok with week one but it took me two days to do it. I have not started on week two I am doing that late tonight or tomorrow.

Yes....it's definitely time consuming! I work nights, so I'm working on the ICP tonight and all day tomorrow. I just keep counting down in my head - 3 more weeks!

For those who have been through this project, is it allowed to put a implementation date like a year from now? There would be no way to effectively implement my project in a small time frame.

Not sure! The time line I used was the 5 weeks of the class. I was told by the TA that they do not actually expect you to implement anything. It is just a project to help you use the skills you should have attained as a nurse. Good Luck with your project!
