Nursing Students Ohio University

Hello to all. I have a question that I wanted to know from anyone else in this class. I have been completing APA papers all year long and this is the first class that the TA is wanting an abstract. She is very picky about my papers critique every little detail. Am I the only one having this and why now are they requiring an abstract. What is the deal with this.

Thanks Ed

I start this class on Monday. Will let you know what I find out.

Thanks! So you will be the experimental group and we'll be the first revision group. This sounds stressful. I'm willing to do whatever as the last nursing class to be done!

I am so ready to be done. Unfortunately, Leadership will be my last class. I am not too worried about this preceptor stuff. At this point it seems fairly informal since it is a new requirement.

Specializes in nursing.

Haha yes we will! That could be scary...

Specializes in Med/Surg, Neuro, ICU, travel RN, Psych.

Has anyone got anymore clarification for this? I am supposed to be taking this class in March as well, but we are moving out state end of March/April first. This royally P's me off. I am now going to have to wait to take the class because there is absolutely no way for me to do this.

Before you drop the class call the school of nursing and tell them you need specifics now. Maybe you could get a mentor from where you work now that would do phone consultation with you. Without knowing the expectation, it's hard to know what to do.

Specializes in Operating Room.

I found out too late that I could have taken 4600 starting Feb 18. They stress 4600 as the last class so I planned accordingly, but when I asked my adviser, she said I could take it second to the last. At that point, it was really too late. Maybe it's a good thing. I need a mental break.

A few nurses that I work with had to do the same thing when they got their MSNs -- coming in on their days off to do some freakin' project. I found alot of the assignments that we've had to do are more along a MSN level which I have been really irritated about. I do not intend to go for an MSN. I'm ready to enjoy life again. (Sorry, I had to vent).

Specializes in lots of specialties.

Almost over!! God I am so glad!!!! This is the last week and it could not have come sooner. Gonna finish this last assignment now and be done

Congrats! Any tips for us beginning this class next week? How much of a part did the mentor/preceptor play in this class?

If you're on Facebook, there's a very helpful group on there. Look for Ohio University RN to BSN academic outreach.
