Family Nursing (NRSE 330) summer 2012

Nursing Students Ohio University

Well i will be in this class for the summer session, i am hoping this experiencve wil be a positive one.

I missed the deadline to take the pre self test for module one. Epic won't allow me to take it since the test had a deadline of wednesday. Can someone give me an idea on what the questions covered. I'm very upset that I can't take it. Sometimes the quizzes are based off some of those questions.

I just hate that we have group case studies. Normally my free time is at the end of the week and I hate that others judge me or label me as a slacker because I cannot work around their schedule and compromise to when they think I should post. I took an online class to avoid this, ugh :(

I HATE group work period. And this class has way too much reading for a 5 week course.:bowingpur

For those who read Dr Y's announcement, I am in that horrible section having all the technical difficulties. It is so bad the 2 students dropped the class because of it. I hope they give everybody some slack! I have posted everything more than once....hope it stays......

My days off fall at the beginning of the week - I work every Thur/Fri and everyother weekend. I have to complete stuff early - and have had group members get a little "touchy" because I can't work on assignments at the end of the week. Is anyone else assigned to Goldsmith?

I am! I am going away Tuesday and Wednesday. How can I relax with these 2 classes hanging over my head?? Of course 325 is due early for Mod 5

Wow, is this class a lot of work. The info for my study family is 13 pages long. There are six major questions, each with 3 or 4 sub-questions to answer. The logical thing to do is to parcel out the questions to the group but that rarely seems to work out (in my groups, at least), and I'm resigned to answering all of the questions on my own. With another DB posting along with 2 replies also due, this is going to be a hectic week. On top of that, I have quite a bit of BS work this week for my arts elective class. Not to mention that I occasionally need to do some real work earning a living. Jeesh.

OK, I'm done venting. See you all next week - I'm too busy to be fooling around posting on AN!

AN!

I agree!! But we have to answer the questions individually anyway! It doesn't make sense to me...I'm still plugging thru 325 with all that DB work and quiz for the week. Is this a 5 credit class or a 4 credit that feels like 5??!! (just like 325).

I am so confused about the group work with this class. Normally each person would submit their answers and then someone would be designated as the group leader and would pull all the work together and then submit it. But this seems totally different? We are supposed to submit all of our work to the group and then submit all of our work individually? I just don't understand...

I'm also confused on this group thing. How do we know which group we are in? There has been 4 announcements on the group discussion but no assigned groups yet. So annoying since this is due in a few days. I looked at the rubics and didn't see anything listed on the length of each question either. Maybe I need to go back and reread it again. How long should the answer be for each question? I must say I'm enjoying this class a little more than cultural and diversity. I hated that one! Although I didn't do any of the reading yet and will prob skim.

When I took family nursing postings on the group discussion board were recommended but never a required graded activity. The first week it looked like it was and everybody wrote some comment on it (It went something like:So what are everyone's thoughts on the Campbell family? etc) It was a time-consuming class and the quizzes were the worst, but they were hugely curved. Just using the book as a reference was generally enough for the instructor (but I know every class differs). SOme of the questions can become redundant and I copied and pasted, then fluffed and buffed a lot from the previous case study weeks.
