Family Nursing January

Nursing Students Ohio University

Starting this family nursing course in January and from what I hear this is going to be a hard course. I am looking for the support of my fellow class mates, or any hints from those who have previously taken the class. Thank You.

has anyone receive the grade for week one? I am still waiting for my grade? Class section 50

I'm in 049, only have a grade for discussion post for week 1. Nothing for my therapy letter.

Anyone already take Fashion and Culture? What book/books are used during this course? I looked under course offering and it just says "to be determined." Thanks!

I have the Campbell family case study. I am reading week 3 scenarios and Here come honey boo is on TV. It makes the reading a lot more enjoyable - brings them all to life!

Please, need your advice. I received my both grades for week one. TA deducted 2 points from week one discussion board without any explanation. Then with the therapeutic letter, another 2 points deducted with no reasonable explanation. I feel that I'm being graded unfairly. I never encountered such since I started with OU. I am so upset right now. I didn't receive my therapeutic letter grade until sunday morning. OU protocol stated grades should be in within 72hrs from due date. What should I do?

Thank you.

Both of my week one assignments have been graded. I too received no feedback on any points deducted. It would be nice to have some feedback, as always, so you know where to fix issues on the next assignments. I only had a total of 1.5 points deducted and since its such a low amount I'm not even questioning it. If you don't have feedback about your errors and you want it, email the TA and ask about it. You shouldn't have to ask but things aren't always as they should be. I am so close to being done with this program and one thing I have learned is that you have to be your own best advocate about grades and such.

Thanks for your quick reply. I really appreciate your advice.

If anyone is taking this course in the future and needs the book "Family Health Care Nursing; Theory, Practice & Research" 4th Ed. (free of charge) please message me.

I too have not received grades for week two. I did have some points deducted for week one but they did leave feedback. I would suggest contacted the facilitator or TA for an explanation. When I have zero points deducted I don't expect feedback nor do I ask for it if there is none.

Halfway fellow students! Keep at it!

I didn't think there was a forum for Family Nsg Spring 2013. Glad I found you guys. Better late than never. Once again, I'm frustrated with these courses. Directions clear as mud! I have two more after this and I'm done. Can't wait.

Week 2 grades are in and I believe, I have my first nit-picky TA. I'm not impressed. I guess I should count my blessings I've not encountered this bloodhound before. Anyone else in section 7 know who I'm talking about?

I don't think I have had a nit-picky TA yet. So far grading has seemed fair and this is my third nursing class. What kinds of things are they picky with? I just want to be prepared because I know my time will come. :-)

Yup. It's official. I have the APA nazi. No "A" for you!....

Responded to the required elements of the assignment. Reply posts are thoughtful and scholarly. APA/format/grammar - capitalization errors in article titles; Hartman's is incorrectly used as possessive several times; incorrectly written 5; contractions; case study quotes need to be properly cited and referenced (-5)

I have (not I've) had an A in every nursing class since I started in Oct 11. I have never had this much trouble. I should never have doubled up in classes. I would like to see the mark ups you know? Learn from my mistakes. If thes %#$^&ing DB posts are going to be as long as &^%^&^ papers, then show us the write ups like if it were a paper. SO FRUSTRATED...

So what is the possessive form of Hartman? How do you cite the case study?
