Family Nursing January

Nursing Students Ohio University

Published

Starting this family nursing course in January and from what I hear this is going to be a hard course. I am looking for the support of my fellow class mates, or any hints from those who have previously taken the class. Thank You.

I think **** is a tough professor but N4530 is nothing compared to N4600. If anyone reads this don't take them together with SAM 3250! I can't wait til this is over I can't believe I did this to myself, but I'll be done after this.

I will say I'm doing better in N4530 than N4600.

Good Luck to you

You must have had a different TA. Because the TA now is taking off points if you do not answer thoughtfully and completely.

Modgoth1 & KoolNurse1,

Like you, I had two points deducted from week 1 posting without an explanation. I emailed the TA and asked for an explanation, so that I could correct whatever I had done wrong, and not keep making the same mistake(s)- she did reply, but I'm not sure what she really meant- said that she would review, and if a mistake had been made, she would correct it. Additionally, said that she would not deduct points from future assignment for same error(s), since we had not had an opportunity to discuss it... In an attempt to maintain my sanity and faith in humanity at large, both of which are questionable since starting this ridiculousness in August, I'm hoping that perhaps this is an attempt to make things less difficult? Leave an open loophole for the adjustment of grades? I really don't get it... My therapeutic letter was graded & had a comment that I understood. Unfortunately, my modem at home burned out and I had no internet access for 3-4 days of week 2- I again emailed the TA, who replied and told me it was ok & to submit my work ASAP when finished. Since then, all my week 2 assignments are just sitting there, not graded, and my subsequent emails to the TA haven't been answered. I don't know what to think and I'm starting to freak out now- Am I on the right track here? Am I that hopeless that she gave up grading my assignments entirely? I finished last semester with a really good GPA, and was hoping to continue it into this semester, and now I feel like I'm completely in limbo here... Thus far, this has been an awful experience, that just seems to keep getting worse... I wish I never started, and now have no choice but to continue, or start paying back the student loans for accomplishing nothing...

ShadowAngelRN just keep swimming. This class in particular seems very confusing but they are not all this bad. Hang in there. I am not sure that I have enjoyed any of the classes that I have taken but then I am not going back to school for the fun of it. It is not always the academics part that is hard. I think one of the most valuable and hardest thing to do is to figure out what the instructor wants and give them exactly that, no more no less.

If anyone is taking this course in the future and needs the book "Family Health Care Nursing; Theory, Practice & Research" 4th Ed. (free of charge) please message me.

A few have messaged me about the book. If you did, I'm sorry but I cannot response because I don't have enough post. Please message me again and include your email address. I have more than one of these. Thanks.

Did everyone get an announcement saying that we have to include an introduction and conclusion paragraph in our regular discussion board postings? The message said that we should have been doing this all along. UH, since when? I've never had this requirement in any OU nursing class. Changing it up on week four is annoying. We are nearly done folks!

Haven't seen one yet but it's early in the week so there's plenty of time to change requirements before Friday night (sarcasm intended). I have taken the I don't care attitude and can actually say I do not feel stressed thus far this semester. My goal is to jump through whatever hoops are presented each week and move on to the next.

Has anyone received a rubric for the week 4 case study assignment?
