I could kick myself. I worked on assessment for 2 hours this morning, but I guess I didn't save it. I have to redo the entire thing.

I am currently working on the abdominal narrative for the last week and I have no clue where to begin. I have followed the sample and plugged all the info from the case study into it but I am half afraid to submit it. Week 2 I was docked 5 points for not having the narrative summary, week 3 I used the SOAP format as the guidelines for writing a narrative suggested and I was not docked any points. Week 4 I did exactly as I did on week 3 and was docked another 5 points because she said I did not include the narrative. I dont get it!!! I am sitting with a 96% but am worried that it is not what she is asking for. Can anyone please give me some insight??

Inconsistent grading has been an issue for many of us.
How I take it, there are 3 parts to this. One part is the subjective info ( just plug stuff in the outline and erase what isn't included in the case study. The second part is the objective ( ie assessment stuff), again take out what is not included in the case study. Third part is the narrative summary, where you write it out, more in a paragraph form, short sentences. Oh and don't forget the problem list.

That is how I have been doing it, and have gotten 100 % on the assessment assignments. but it all depends on your TA
Good luck. I just submitted mine. And am done. Yeah!

Thank you so much! I messaged the TA asking for clarification and all I got from her is that is is "spelled out in the instructions."

Good luck to you as well.

Isn't that just so helpful. I wish they would read Bastable. They certainly don't follow her advice.

Once again, I wait until the last minute to do these assignments when I had plenty of time to do it earlier. I am the queen of procrastination. Right now I'm trying to do the narrative abdominal assessment from the case study. Seems like the case study hardly gives out any information on the patient at all, compared to the example given. I feel like I'm missing a lot of info.At least I got my teaching plan and my initial DB post completed.
This has been a hard assignment for me to do for some reason. I keep getting distracted by silly things. I guess it's because I'm burned out and ready for a long break after this completely lousy Fall Semester. Every class I had this semester was a complete disaster with the exception of Gerontology. I'm so glad I will only have 3 more classes and I am done with this school! I sure hope next semester isn't as bad as this one was.

I'm right there with you. I have a ton of work to get done today. I started the assessment, and still have to do my teaching plan, lol. I'll be cramming all evening and night. Although I work well under pressure, haha. I'm getting over a bad URI, and just haven't been able to get force myself into this. I missed all last week of work.

Happy Holidays! I am finished and going out on a date with my husband!

My first class of the new year will be Family Nursing. If I didn't so so well here it might be this class again too!!!

    Good Luck everybody.

(I just noticed I double spaced this post. UGH.)

If he's anything like my husband, he'll love the attention that has been missing the last five weeks! Have fun, good holidays, and I'll see you in Family Nsg on Jan 14.
