Anyone else taking Assessment for Fall third session?

Suggestions from anyone who has taken it already?

If you are looking at week 4 and have never been taught heart sounds or you need a good review, here is a helpful you tube.

the guy is a bit annoying, but very clear info.

THANKS!

I keep getting points off for not citing Bastable correctly. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can someone show me the right way to reference the Bastable book.

Here is the citation:

Bastable, S. B. (2008). Nurse as educator: Principles of teaching and learning for nursing practice, 3rd Ed. (pp. 51-85). Sudbury, MA: Jones and Bartlett.

Son of Citation is a great reference if you don't have PERRLA formatting software.

Not quite right

Bastable, S. B. (2008). Nurse as educator: Principles of teaching and learning for nursing practice (3rd ed.). Sudbury, MA: Jones & Bartlett

Title of book is in italics. edition in parenthesis.

And remember, page number references are used for periodicals but not for text books. You need to use a page number in your citation if you have a direct quote from any source however.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Has anyone used someone extremely healthy for any of their assessments? I was going to use my husband, who is a triathlete (besides working a real job) so I'm not sure what I'd even talk about.

I think that part of the assignment is understanding what is abnormal as well as normal. So, having a patient that is normal is ok. Just look at areas that might be at risk when doing your narrative. Does he work too hard?

For week 4 discussion are you just using the pre-printed forms for this assignment? Don't want to find out on Wednesday that is is not right.

Hi all!! I'm just finding this website...looks like I have been missing out! I'm in assessment now too! As far as Bastable, my TA keeps saying that it is an edited book, but she won't tell me/us WHERE she sees editors. It's so frustrating!! Anyone else having problems getting your TA to actually answer a question?

Sounds like you have unfortunately gotten as super picky TA. S.B. Bastable is the editor and is also a contributor to the book. There are multiple contributors to the book and who wrote each particular chapter is listed at the start of each chapter. If you look at the class syllabus, that book is referenced as I responded to another poster. Not sure if your specific TA wants you to cite differently -
