Been doing this assessment. It is worth 10% of our grade this time...instead of 5%.

It really amazes me how strange this new revised assessment is. I feel like I could be an EENT physician after this.

I got my DB grade back full points.

My literature review was dinged 1.5 points because I had one lengthy paragraph for each article. Which I thought was all that was required.

Haven't received assessment grade yet. That is the one I am anxious to get back.

Also noticed our TEACHING PLAN is worth 20% of our grade.

Anyway...wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving in spite of school!!

Got my grades back, full points for DB and assessment, got dinged 1/2 point for lit. review. I didn't put the article references below each summary paragraph. Oh well.

Working on this weeks assessment, will do my objective assignment in between cooking tomorrow and finish up with 1 more DB reply on Friday. I work this weekend so I want to get this done and over with by Friday. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Got full points on my assessment which surprises me. To be honest...I don't think the TA's know how to grade those.

I work tomorrow...no cooking for me. (I would rather work than cook this year)

Happy Thanksgiving again to you all!

Still no grades...I think I'm going to complain...it's just ridiculous!! It's been 72 hours and now I'm sure with the holiday she isn't going to put in grades.

I'm thinking about asking for an extension on the assessment assignment since the tool was given out on wednesday. I did my assessment on monday on my neighbor and now have to wait until Saturday night when he can see me again so I can do the vision exam better, as well as a few other things. I work Friday, saturday and sunday! I try to get my work done at the beginning of the week but now it looks like I might have to try and take a day off (yeah right, busy ICU on a holiday weekend!!!)... gotta say, this really ****** me off...

You should not be penalized for using the original format.

I just wish that as students our need for clarity, fairness and consistency from faculty would not fall on deaf ears.

I have no grades either. Not sure how they expect us to write another assessment without seeing our first and knowing what was wrong. I got week 2 grades back at like 8pm Friday night last week.

Got all my grades back but an 18/25 on the assessment. Why? I don't know. TA feedback: You need to follow the example given in the annoucements for how to document this. Your exam was scattered with subjective mixed in. No narrative at the end.

I just wrote the TA and prof. an email regarding grade and course. I am so frustrated with this course -- like no other. I am sitting here this morning with five documents in front of me, the instructions for Week 3 Assessment and not a clue as to where to turn or what they want. I have three "samples" of head and neck narrative summaries and two "forms."

Does anyone know what form or forms we need to turn in for week 3? Or do we just turn in a narrative summary based on the information we took down on the form? I'm lost. Unfortunately, I get better feedback from the people in this forum than the instructors.

I honestly feel like I'm just copying from the sample assessment. My client is pretty healthy and I pretty much write the same thing the sample paper says for healthy assessments. How can you change that... you really can't. I got 25/25 on my last paper. I wrote my assessment out and then wrote a short narrative at the bottom. That is what I'm going to continue to do. I am caught up on the eye examine. I don't have the chart and on the sample page it says "use printable". Where is the printable page for the eye exam? Anyway I'm going to wing it again... One part of the assessment wanted us to assess the temperal pulse with the pulse rate on each side. I have never done that after being a nurse for 9 years. This is not a MD or NP class! Anyway, I never got the revise version so I guess I can only go off the original. What is so different from the original to the revised?

I share your frustration. It feels like they are flying by the seat of their pants. There is nothing in the syllabus about assignments being subject to change.

I am using the first set of things that were listed in the original assignment. I am doing a focused history, an assessment, ( underlining abnormals) and a narrative summary. I will add the assessment about the cranial nerves b/c that seems to be a part of this weeks learning. I dont have the equipemnt to do the indepth assessment that was posted the second time ( in an announcement with no explaination by the way). Just remember we are half way through!

The so-called revised version is nothing like any original version. I was assuming that it was an "addition" and not a "revision." Who knows. My "revised" version was in "Announcements."

Don't see one in my announcement section. I'm in 019 section. What did you do as far as the vision exam? Did you include a eye chart?
