Thought I would start a new thread on my next class coming up. I know Delta...you have already taken this class, and have commented elsewhere about some of the requirements.

Any words of wisdom you and others can share whould be appreciated.

WELL...I got an 80% on the quiz...not the 100% I was hoping for!

Ok this may be a stupid question... but how did you cite your interview subject? I find myself wanting to cite nearly every sentence beacuse it is knowledge/opinion of the subject I am recording in the report. It seems redundant to cite within the body of the document beacuse all of the information that would be in the citation is included at the begining of the document (but I know it can't be that easy). I think everyone has already said it, but agree I will be so glad to be done with this class!

Wow, I didn't even think about citing the interview. However, I did look it up in my APA 6th edition page 179 there is something about personal interviews. I would imagine there is something on the Purdue OWL website. I'm sure if I don't cite the interview in some way my TA will deduct points. Anyway it says "unless it is retrievable info. it is not included in the reference section. The citation should look like this:

(J. B. Smith, personal interview, April, 23 2012).

Hope this helps! I'm not even going to bother emailing my TA because it either takes forever to get a response or I don't get one, same with the Q&A board.

Good Luck!

Thanks for reminding me to dbl space. What a silly thing on fill-in-the-blank template. Mine is gonna be super short. I just can't deal with much more fluff. I need a massage and tall cold one after this....

Please tell me 414 will be a refreshing change???

Sure! I don't know about a "refreshing change" but I didn't think it as painful as community. The workload wasn't too bad and no quizzes.

I used (A.A., personal interview, April 23, 2012) as my reference. Used lots of quoted remarks - still looking for some fill -in -the - blank references...LOL. Going to end up with about 7 pages.

Is this the assignment that in grid template format? If so, I made a 100% on it, and NEVER referenced the person I interview. Never even thought about it. And my TA was HARD AS HELL, so she would have DEFINITELY dinged me if she thought it were required…LOL

I wrote my responses as if I were describing him.

Ex. Mr. Patel suffers from TB…He feels as though….He identifies his role as….

My references came from the health dept website, our textbook, world health org, and a TB site. My finished assignment was 10 pages including references at bottom.

So I wouldn't stress about referencing the person you interviewed.

Thanks deltaroxxy, good to know! My TA has been a nightmare, I'm just glad this is the only TA that I have had that has been this bad. Anyway I only have 455 left and I'll be done!!

Thanks for all the input. I have had a TA deduct points in another class for an assignment similar to this for not citing the interviewee in the grid so I tend to want to cite everything.

Mine deducted 2 full points on last week's assignment because I failed to mention the role of the nurse in public health.....mind you....I wrote a full paragraph on it!!!! :banghead: I just don't get it..........they're nuts!

My TA took off 2 points because I did not show page 1 on the title page (I suppressed the number on the title page and so the first content page was "2") and because I did not use a title on my first content page. Would certainly have had another point deducted if I had exceeded the two page maximum. Have yet to get full marks for any paper for this class, though the remarks about the content are always "very well written", "concise - excellent organization and writing", "well done paper", etc

Can't wait for this one to end.

So I finally decided to take a break from stressing over this paper and took the quiz tonight. Can you say ouch! Worst grade I have received on a quiz yet. :( So now I am back to stressing over the paper...
