Community Health...who has taken or wil be taking?

Thought I would start a new thread on my next class coming up. I know Delta...you have already taken this class, and have commented elsewhere about some of the requirements.

Any words of wisdom you and others can share whould be appreciated.

Well...that is certainly an interesting theory Chuckster. Sounds like you have though about this before.

On another subject. I am only sharing this so people can realize that LESS can be MORE. I received 100% on week three assignment. It was only 4 pages long including references. So, it is not necessary to create page after page in hopes of making the grade. I have found this to be true for all my classes at OU. I think if you address the salient points and get the references right it works just as well and is probably more to the liking of the person GRADING the assignments. I am just saying. I have found that most professors will emphatically state they do not enjoy grading homework assignments. So if you can be succinct and to the point it is more to their liking. I'm just saying.

We all know how different each TA can be in the grading. Many of the salient points require multiple examples, so that's what they are going to get from me, it's just my way of covering the bases. Congratulations on your success and providing this helpful hint!

I just have one question, how can it be 4 pages long when the blank template was 3?? Didn't you double-space as directed? My TA suggested we reference each box to be on the safe side (believe me, it adds up).....I want your TA.

Man, EmJeanRN you have lucked out with the TAs. I have not been so lucky. In my case detail, detail, detail...and then some. My current TA is great but less is not more in any of my classes. Trade ya!

OK peeps....has anyone seen the amount of information that rubric asks for in week 4's assignment? And they want the paper to be only 2 pages long!!! Is it me?? Really?

My paper is 4 pages...There was a lot of information to cover.

Mine was 9 pages just because Maine has a truly fragmented, messed up, stupid system to deal with community health issues. Just because you were able to fit everything into four pages - congratulations! That will not work for everyone. I AM succinct and to the point but we are all from different parts of the country. Not everything is the same everywhere. This state farms out services to various providers and I included that. I covered the rubric thoroughly. Oh - I also got a 100%. :twocents:

Mine was 15 pages because that's how much information there was in my city. I also received a 100%.

Our TA said homelessness is just an example that we can focus on other vulnerable populations in our posts. Is there another population you can pick?

My TA said the same thing AFTER I POSTED. The directions made it sound like the example should be the homeless. I think I spent 4-5 hours on that post...there was so much to cover in my county.

I do all my stats homework then focus on this class towards the end of week. I think our TA posted that after everybody was writing about homeless population. I will start my assignments tonight:yawn:

Specializes in Critical Care, ER, Post-Op Surgery.

It doesn't look like my Quiz 3 grade got averaged into my course grade. Anybody else have this problem?

I'm also having one h@$$ of a time getting my TA to respond to my questions!!! I have never had a problem with this before, all of my TA's have been great until this one. Can't wait for this class to be over!!!!!!!!!!

I am in this class too and haven't found it too troubling. This being my last quarter before graduating I have to say that it seems like most papers are based on quantity and not quality.

I have found that if you cover the topics asked on the rubic-I break this up into paragraphs, included the specified number of references+text and the requested number of pages...then my grade is good. If I forget anything....then I am dinged.

I haven't ever gotten feedback on the quality of my papers. I have actually thought about including something random in a paper like "the wonderful wizard of oz" just to see if its actually being read or just grazed over for the requirements......

My biggest complaint about this program is that it appears quantity driven-perhaps that is because it is an online program....

Can someone help me with this reference (errors, omissions, etc)?

if "a profile of professor quincy adam wagstaff" is a book title it should look like this

marx, g., marx, c., marx, h., & marx, z., (1932). huxley-darwin college office of comedic health practice and training, final executive study. a profile of professor quincy adams wagstaff. retrieved from www.horsefeathers.com

if "a profile of professor quincy adam wagstaff" is not the book title but part of the title of the article then it should look like this:

I don't have my APA reference in front of me...but should the title of the study be capitalized? Not sure...
