    I picked one community and did an extensive survey. Remember to very thoroughly describe all that you see. What are people wearing - are they young, old, middleaged?? Are there children around on playgrounds, etc. What do houses and neighborhoods look like. Fluff it out!!!

    Good advice. My county is huge too so I was hoping picking one town was acceptable.

    I used a popular resort town here in Maine - and did my survey before tourist season began. Look at buildings, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food pantries - is there subsidized housing. What kind of restaurants do you see - is there a large variety? Are there restaurants, stores, neighborhoods, etc related to a specific culture? Or is the community blended? I specifically described two churches because they where built from hand-hewn granite from local quarries. Describe the condition of homes - is there a lot of junk laying about? Or are yards neat and clean? Do you see a lot or for sale signs? Do you see people on the street? Are they aimlessly loitering or do they appear to be walking to a particular destination. Is there public transportation? The more you add to it - the better overall score you will receive.

    I am also in section 054, but I have not recieved any grades on my assignments yet. My last TA took forever!! If the deadline was to have my assignment graded by MN on wednesday it wasn't ready until between 10pm-11pm! The final day our grades were due by noon on that Monday....she graded mine on Thursday!! I was so mad having to wait, so I hope this one is better!! =) Good luck to everyone, and I plan on writing alot of observation examples of what I see on this next assignment. I live in a suburb outside of Detroit, Mi. so there is MORE than enough to observe in Detroit!! I am also in the 5 week statistic class, work full time and have two young boys at home, so being busy is an understatement! LoL =)

    I haven't started mine yet, I'm going to probably Wednesday or something. But I plan on doing it in the downtown side of town, which also has some more residential type areas as well. I figure there will be more to see there. Get a good variety of stuff to write about.

    Right!! How did you do on the first 2 assignment? I did waaaaaaay better than I ever thought I would! I got 19/20 on both. Good Luck!! I just submitted Module #3, and Module #4 is not looking too easy LoL I started it, but its quite the task!

    I am not sure where to begin with this windshield survey. Am I correct we are to only report what we see? What if we don't drive by one of the areas the assignment asks about? I see Fluff in my future!
