For those of you who did the windshield survey already, for the two paragraph summary at the end did you use references? I didn't see anywhere that we needed to have any, but I wasn't sure if I missed something. Thanks!

I'm heading out on my windshield survey drive today also. Hopefully I don't have an accident! I hope they are serious about only writing about what we actually see in 45 minutes. I have to admit it makes me a little nervous. I feel like I need to embellish...

No accident, but I got a speeding ticket, in one of the little townships... going 38 in a 25...

125 bucks.... really made my day.

I can't believe you got a ticket. That is terrible! Talk about adding insult to injury!

OMG, I want to scream... this windshield assignment is interminable......... it just goes on and on......... How many ways can you describe poverty, housing, and what people were doing or what they look like. I think I want to scream. And I am a community nurse! I guess I am just tired. Perhaps a new day will yield a fresh perspective, but I am not holding my breath. :banghead:

I just quit too. I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over again. It was cold here today so there was no one outside but I don't feel like I can say that. I just poured myself a glass of wine!

The DB doesn't HAVE to relate to our topic right? I thought it said it it may help to relate it or something? I picked housing issues which I can relate to mental illness. I have it mostly wrote, but need to finish it. My other one was water issues, which has nothing to do with mental illness, but it's a big issue around here.

You are right, my HP 2020 topic is infant mortality, and I did my DB on environment ( toxic landfill) which applies and violence - not so much.

I'm in Fox Chase too. My co-worker told me about this site and it has gotten me through several courses already!

Too funny that you live in fox chase! I love this site and its good to vent about school. What quarter are you in? Do you work in the area?

This is my 8th class at OU and my 5th nursing course. I'm also in Business Communications through the end of fall and will be taking Diversity next month. I work at Elkins Park Hospital.

Do you work locally as well? It's great that I've found some other students in my community.

This site helps the program feel more like school with students discussing topics without needing to post references at the end of their "discussion".

This windshield survey is very frustrating!!!!!! I agree about saying the same thing over and over. There's only so many ways to same the same thing. I've spent four hours today and I'm nowhere near done. Am I making this harder than it should be? Ah........ I'm taking a break. Anyone in this class from the Bloomingdale, Hopedale, Steubenville area?

Right! I didn't relate mine to my topic, I suppose I could have stretched it so it could include nutrition and weight status, but I just stuck with the environment. Mine were air quality (fire going on over here) and rabies (we've had an increase in rabid skunks). I just posted mine. Now to work on my windshield survey. I plan to finish it up by tomorrow and have my DB replies done tomorrow as well. I have to work this weekend.
