Register Today!- Jun 9, '12 by Inimica18Quote from mo2rnI promise you it will not be as bad as it looks. I was in the same boat ten weeks ago. DB are a breeze, no citations needed. Sometimes I wrote a eight sentence paragraph as my initial post and it counted. Grading for the reading responses is super fast and not hard at all. I had made a citation mistake once and still got an "excellent post" review with a correction on the citation. Just make sure you have at least 750 words. I goes you could work ahead by doing all the reading responses but I couldn't do more than one in a week lol The projects are not too bad at all. To be honest I did not even do the last one because it turned into a crazy week and I had the 10% extra credit which was just as much as the project. I finished the class with a 98.3%. The biggest pain in the neck is reading this book during the first two weeks. While it is somewhat interesting, it is a help-yourself type book which isn't really my style.I hope it is easier than it seems because we have to post initial DB by Monday every week and make 3 responses plus other assignments. I am going to try and do all the grammar exercise this week, hoping to secure that 10% extra credit in case i will need it.
- Jun 9, '12 by Simply ComplicatedThe course was finally showing for me to see. It seems like a lot, but I would bet that since we are used to nursing courses, it may seem worse up front than it will turn out to be. We are used to some pretty hard grading for the APA formatting after all!
- Jun 10, '12 by EmJeanRNI have also decided to take this class in the summertime. Waiting for the nursing junior english class was too risky.
So, I am in summer school! - Jun 10, '12 by Simply ComplicatedSo all those quizes we can do are on general grammer concepts. The first quiz is picking out adverbs and adjectives from the a sentence. I got a 33% the first time, haha. Guess I need to review my grammer rules before I go any further for those, lol.

Honestly I prefer to take a class that plenty of others have been through. Everyone was so psyched about the Fashion and culture class and it is supposed to be horrible. Really don't feel like chancing it with another course. - Jun 10, '12 by mo2rnQuote from Simply ComplicatedYep, i started and it is certainly time consuming, but i am going at it hoping to be done by the end of the week.So all those quizes we can do are on general grammer concepts. - Jun 12, '12 by ShuggypieI also took that first adverb/adjective quiz. I didn't do that well on it either! This is my first class so I'm excited, nervous, scared, and worried. It seems like a lot of work due in a short period of time, I hope I can keep up, I start my nursing classes in the fall.
- Jun 12, '12 by Simply ComplicatedQuote from ShuggypieSome of them are a lot easier. But I've started googling what the quiz is on and giving myself a 5 minute refresher, lol. Going waaay back trying to remember this stuff.I also took that first adverb/adjective quiz. I didn't do that well on it either! This is my first class so I'm excited, nervous, scared, and worried. I thought you had to take the first nursing course before you could do any classes at all? - Jun 13, '12 by ShuggypieDon't know, but my advisor is aware because I had to have her help in completing registration for both summer and fall. Now if I could just start reading "Difficult Conversation".
- Jun 13, '12 by rninmeQuote from ShuggypieReading that book is the worst part of the class! Another student and I refered to it as the "horrid little book" - hated it because I do not like self-help books!! But -you will use it quite a bit for the class. It looks overwhelming at first glance - but it really isn't all that bad. Good luck!Don't know, but my advisor is aware because I had to have her help in completing registration for both summer and fall. Now if I could just start reading "Difficult Conversation".
