I have professor "difficult conversations". He does not give too much info about the book report or format, do you need citations etc or references? Lot of work for 5 points! I can though say I submitted my paper on "playing well with others" and t was graded in less than 24 hours

Since it was worth only 5 points...I skipped the assignment. Cannot help you out with what is needed. I know the grading seemed really fair and not tremendously picky. The APA citations are not emphasized. I would just reference the book and be done with it. That is all I did for reading responses and received full points for all of them.

hmmm....... I thought I only had 2 messages on there. Will clear it out.thanx for the heads up

She is a total nightmare. She's starting to get really defensive too. She took down the Q & A board now. She wants all students to call with questions. Seriously. I am not a child.

Her course is formatted horribly. The directions are horribly unclear. The assignments are bizarre. It's not that I need someone to walk me through it on the phone. It's that the course should be written clear enough from the beginning that I shouldn't have too.

WOW! So glad I do not have this instructor. I just looked at the final assignment for my teacher and it is 10 pages for 10 points and that includes a power point presentation OMG! EmJean thanks for the tips. Going to be a lonnngggggg summer for sure.

This was one of my last classes to graduate. I had an "I don't care anymore" attitude and really picked the assignments that I wanted to do and calculated my grade precisely to avoid the "projects" and also did the extra credit. (Which you have wisely finished). I ended up not doing any of the projects including the final one as well! My sister passed away in the middle of the semester which also made me less enthusiastic to do all the project work. I ended up with a B in the class which was MORE than okay with me. I saved myself a ton of anguish and now have my degree. May not have a 4.0 but I no longer care! I only did the DB boards and the reading responses the entire semester. Allowing myself to make a B was the best decision for me at the time. Total stress reliever.

EmJean so very sorry about your sister. It is tough, and I have been there when my mother passed away. Not easy. I am learning not to stress ( is that possible?) and not shooting for the "A' as nobody knows when you have your degree whether you are an "A" or "B" student. What matters most to me after being out of school for 31 years is that I still have some brain cells upstairs and the learning I have received. I am 56 years old and am just trying to do well and pass these dang courses. That is all that matters to me at this point.

Your brain cells are now being exercised and you will feel like they went to boot camp. BTW: I have you beat by two years in the age category. It will be a great feeling when you are all done.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but it does my heart good to see that there are some other "very seasoned" nurse doing this. I will have my 58th birthday in a week. Am hoping to get done before 60.

As they push these older nurses back to school, I think they should take into consideration the stress level that they are putting us under.

Hmm.... maybe a research project. I can see the headlines...

MANDATING BSN DEGREE FOR OLDER NURSES IS DETRIMENTAL TO THEIR HEALTH AND WELLBEING. "In a study completed by graduates of Ohio University's RN to BSN program, Researchers concluded that the idiotic busy work and relentless, demanding and nit-picking of TA's has serious health consequences to older nurses in the workforce. Sleep deprivation, lack of time for self-care practices, and loss of social support structures are cited as causative factors. Univeristies are encouraged to create less stressful programs with liberal credit for the years of life saving and expert nursing care they have provided."

How's that sound?

cincinnursemary, LMAO! OMG you are too funny! Now that would really be a good research project. I am not a spring chicken and boy wish I had done this 20 years ago. So far it hasn't been mandated at my work, but it is coming. The new grads from the associate degree nursing program here cannot get into my hospital....they want BSN grads now. So I don't want them telling me when I am 60 I have to get my BSN. Hopefully I will be out of the hospital by then.
