Anyone in Chemistry at Clovis this semester?

Is anyone taking Chemistry at Clovis this semester with me? I remember reading about a number of people considering it, so wanted to see if any of us are in it together. ;)

How's it going so far? I'm finding it pretty easy. I just found my proctor. I wonder if the history questions are going to be on final. I can't remember names of people I know, let alone someone from hundred years ago.

So far it's been going well. I like the amount of information he goes over each week - not overwhelming at all. None of it is new material so far - so it's just like taking a refresher course from high school. I'm hoping it stays that way.

And I'm with you on the history questions. That's the hardest part for me. I'm hoping there aren't too many on the final. I haven't set up my proctor yet, but I'm planning on taking it at the community college where I went to nursing school.

How is Chemistry going for everyone? Still nervous to take this course. I will take it in the fall with business comm and music. Then I am done! December 2014 cannot come soon enough!

It's getting a bit more challenging as the weeks go on. I understand it, but my difficulty is in remembering it after I study. While I'm doing the lesson, it doesn't seem hard , but then after about 3 or 4 days, I look at it and think, what the heck? Its like starting over again. I think it is just me. I found Exam 3 to be a challenge. I took all but 8 minutes of the 2 hours given to take it. Dummy me, I passed over 2 questions and didn't realize it until I hit submit.. I won't make that mistake again.

It's definitely becoming more challenging, but it's still quite doable.

My biggest issue is that I've worked ahead a bit in order to get most of this done before 4520 starts next week. But he told me the earliest I can take the final is April 22. Which means I will have to re-read all of these lecture notes to be ready to take the final - because, like cincinursemary, I forget it shortly after I finish the unit.

But I have a 98% right now. The labs are easy, and it seems as long as you put reasonable effort into writing up the lab report, he will give you full credit. My lab reports are all super basic, and he has given me full points for each of them. It's such a nice break to not have to think about APA.

Amen to that!

I'm scheduled for the Final on May 2nd. A long way away to remember all the stuff we went over already. So far I've got a 95, I'm glad to have the cushion incase I bomb the final.

I know you guys have probably already covered this question before in a previous thread, but I am going to ask it again anyway. How do I go about registering for this class? What is the exact class number? Thanks!

You have to apply to Clovis first. They have an online application form on their web site. Just google them and you'll find it. The course is CHEM 113.

I found the process very easy. On line app. www.clovis.edu. There are a ton of OU students in my class this semester.

Thanks to both of you!

Oh Boy, Am I struggling with the formula balancing and figuring out the formula from the name or the name from the formula!

Anyone have any tips or tricks?

Just got back from taking my final. Such a weight lifted off of my shoulders! :)

I still have to finish the last lab and take that post-test. I'm still so very glad I took this course for my Chemistry requirement.

Cincinursemary - how are you doing with the formula balancing? Did you figure out a trick that works for you?
