4600 Summer 5/13

Nursing Students Ohio University

Anyone else in this with me? Did you get your email about the project? I'm trying to secure a mentor by next week.

Hi Everybody:

I am registered for 4550 the second 5 weeks of this summer semester and am thinking of adding 4600. Based on what you are doing in 4600 (and what you have done in 4550,) would that be a suicidal undertaking on my part? I REALLY want to get done with this program, but am just afraid I would be killing myself by taking 4550 and 4600 together. Thoughts?

I personally have never taken two nursing classes at the same time but I never recommend it. Every class, to me, seems overwhelming. Other people, it doesn't bother them.

Week 3 DB Post: I am stuck on trying to figure out exactly what is being asked for Program/Organization suitability in our post?

I'm taking family nursing with 4600. It's doable but not fun and busy. I've taken 2 at a time a few times throughout the program and its just stressful and very busy (I'm also working full time).

Ok so my grade for the week 2 ICP was FINALLY posted. What happened to 72 hours after due date!?! Just venting here but I have NEVER scored so poorly on ANY of my other nursing classes. How does one go from all A's to an 81%. Is it me or are there others who are struggling with the disorganization of this class and the dinging of points for directions that are open to interpretation. I feel penalized for asking several questions during week one. I would hope the asking of questions is not frowned upon. This class has been difficult from the beginning. I I do not pass this I will not return to the university. It is not worth the aggravation at this point on my life!!!!

Hi Timetogo,

You have three more weeks to improve your grade. I currently have a 3.85 GPA and my grade is 88.9% so I feel your pain. We will make it through this course. I want you to try your best for week three ICP and make sure you correct whatever was marked on your paper. I plan to do the same. We have to support each other through this. If your grade does not improve you can contact your professor, advisor or the dean of the University. There is a success center available to online students. You could call them. Here is a link for you. Ohio University RN-to-BSN Knowledge Center

This is the best advice I can give you. As you can see, I am also struggling with my grade also. This is the lowest grades I have received. At the end of the day we just need to pass. I have to accept a C if that is what it will take to make it through this class. C=degrees was something a friend told me when I was working on Statistics.

Nursing classes you have to make a minimum of B minus. All other non nursing classes you can make a C.

I thought it was a B-. Terrible to shoot for just the passing grade but that is what my goal is at this point. Curious, on last weeks ICP did anyone else not list all four steps with the dates completed? I read the directions that we were to just list the steps we had completed with the dates it was accomplished. I got dinged for that.

timetogo,

just make sure you follow the directions to a T. I listed all steps, goals and dates and all was fine with my grade. Just do exactly what your TA is asking for in weeks 3-5. You can't go wrong if you do exactly what they ask for.

My moto is always give them what they want, plus a little more.

Keep on trying, don't quit. The end is near!

I have received full credit for all the ICP stuff so far - and I agree just follow the rubric, and everything down to a T. Hang in there! we're almost done :)

I am working on the ICP making sure to hit all points. Thanks for the support. I'll let you know how I do.
