4550- Evidence Based Nursing

Nursing Students Ohio University

Published

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

I just finished one DB and it is 1:30 in the morning my time. I am actually quite proud of it. Decided I don't want to lose any silly points these last two weeks. I have to tackle the measurement one tomorrow.

Congrats mtsteehorse...I know that is a great feeling to be done with the main project so early in the week!!

If you open the assignment itself the directions are there. BTW: You can save your work...just be careful NOT to hit SAVE and Submit button..just the SAVE button only. You can go back to it later. I looked at it several different times, saved my work, and submitted later when I was ready.

Thanks Jean

Grades for week three trickling in... I didn't do bad, I worked my butt off, but still am surprised.

From my TAInternal Validity Assignment- For the information given, identify the threat to internal validity from the list: Maturation, History, Mortality, Selection Bias, & Instrumentation. Give a short answer explaining why this is the correct answer.
That is what the list should say. Mine section's listing lost a "t" along the way: Maturation, History, Morality, Selection Bias, & Instrumentation.

You just gotta love the thorough proofreading . . .

Chuckster: Don't get me started on the proofreading. It amazes me how people with a supposed education cannot type or put sentences together or give you a clear explanation of directions. I've taken about six of these nursing classes and it's been atrocious.

But off with your head if you miss one little . or , anywhere, lol!

Hehehe - proofreading. Don 't get me going! I am the self-proclaimed spelling police! I have tried to be on my best behavior. Just trying to finish up all the sleep-inducing reading for this week. Can't read this stuff for any length of time, I go into a coma . Reading is one thing ... comprehension is a whole 'nuther ball of wax :banghead:

What drives me nuts on the DB assignments is the double set of directions. First it tells you to read something and do something, then it has a title Directions and then it tells you do read or do something else. I guess you are supposed to get it by osmosis that they want you to do both. Seriously! Can't they rewrite these and re post in a more student friendly ( less Kreskin like) manner.

But like you said, if you submit something with even a minor error, it's deductions galore. URGGGH!!

When you post a discussion board post or do other assignments, do you first type it in Word, then copy and paste it into the Blackboard text or DB box? This is what I have always done with success but all of a sudden I am having a lot of problems with that. What I'm copying and pasting is coming out all screwy. I talked to tech support and they told me that you should never copy and paste into Blackboard from Word. Anyone ever have problems with this?

I had an issue last DB with my reference getting screwed up. Wrote my TA, She said they were all aware of the issues with Word and BB. Type in Word - then cut/paste to Bb. That way, if there is an issue, you can re-submit if needed.

I have been cutting and pasting from Word. Today, for the first time I encountered problems. My cut and paste is not showing up but my name does. This happened with a reply to the DB. I always create it in Word so I have a copy of my work. If it doesn't get fixed I'm hoping I can at least send it my TA.
