You have to take 4510 first before you take any other nursing classes

Were you asking what else to take with 4510? I wasn't brave enough to take 2 nursing classes at a time. I think a lot of folks did. Do you have any gen ed to take? You might do better taking a gen ed with 4510. I just remember spending about 14-15 hours a week on that class, partly b/c it was all to new. I hadn't been in school for over 30 years at that point. Also, APA is a bear to get used to. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't take any other nursing courses with 4510. That course is very time-consuming. I was completely overwhelmed and would not have had time for two nursing courses. A non-nursing course maybe…. but even with that, not unless I really had to.

I am starting this course march 24, I am currently registered to start 3 gen Ed courses as well online at a local community college Sinclair, would you not recommend taking those with this course?

I would advise against taking more than 1 class with it. When I took 4510 I was spending at least 16 hours a week on it. Granted I hadn't been in school for almost 30 years, and I knew nothing about APA formatting. It takes some getting used to. If you want to do more than just get by don't over do it the first class.

It was easier when I took it but I would caution against other classes until you get the hang of it. Navigating the system was a beast for me and I still struggle with it at times- announcements, APA , rule changes, etc.

They changed the rules so you can take two classes at the same time. They are all co-reqs of each other which means you have to have registered for 4510 in order to register for the others.

I just finished school and I used to be a psych major. I also am familiar with a basic Blackboard set up. I am constantly in online classes.

Applesxoranges did you have a hard time in 4510? It seems like everyone was overwhelmed with this course

4510 is hard because it is a cluster of unrelated topics. Week two doesn't build on what you learned week one. It's something completely different.

I took honors college English and passed with an A, and I found that class a beast and I just passed. I would take that class by itself. JMO.

I am not doing the greatest with NRSE 4510. I am passing however. At the moment I am at a 86%. One issue is that the total points is just a handful. 168 total. However, in my other class (the physical assessment) I am getting a 92%.

I just need an 8/10 on the discussion board and a 10/20 on a paper and I'll pass with an 80%.

If I could do it over again, I'd probably do 4510 by itself. The reason why I am doubling up is I want to finish quickly to ensure everything will transfer as I have everything completed but the nursing classes and the junior English so I have everything scheduled so I'll graduate December 2014 when I started in March 2014. Junior English I am taking at Miami University online @ one of their other campuses for 8 weeks based on the experience someone else had with the class. I am instate so it's cheaper.
