Tri-C Nursing Program-Starting in Fall 2011

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hi All,

I was looking for fellow students that will be starting the nursing program in the Fall of 2011. I am excited :yeah:about starting and just looking for others who I might be in class with. If anyone has any information on what the process is like before hand, please let me know.

Thanks in advance :D

Scott,

I will be joining the generic program...probably during the day as well. I am not really sure yet but thanks alot. Any info you can give is helpful and appreciated. :)

Can someone tell me since when does the Eastern campus offer a day program? I just noticed this on the nursing website and was shocked to see that they were admitting for a day program at the Eastern Campus. To my knowledge, I only knew that the Eastern campus offered the Evening/Weekend program. This would have been much more fitting for my schedule had I known about this earlier, but this is the first I've seen of it.

LeahMarie,

I was not aware of this either. I chose the evening/night because the Eastern campus was closer to me vs. the metro.

I'm actually on the phone with the Nursing department at the moment and they told me that it's something new... and I'm now looking to forfeit my spot in the Evening/weekend program this fall in order to be admitted to the day program in spring 2012 at the Eastern Campus due to it being so much more convenient. The way I look at it is that I've waited this long to get into the program.. that one more semester isn't going to make much difference, especially if it is much more convenient for me to do days as opposed to evenings.

You are right! If it is more convenient for you, then 5 more months of waiting won't hurt you :-) Good Luck with Everything!

I noticed that too. Maybe it's more room available? That is a good thing and much more convenient for many people!

The Days program at East is/was brand new for this semester, Spring 2011. They added a days program at East when they brought in the students from the now closed Huron School of Nursing.

Officially got my start date changed to Spring 2012 for Eastern Campus day! So happy about this!

Does anyone know how long the program is? Are nursing classes taken in the summer or do you get summers off?

The "Core" nursing courses are taken over 4 semesters. You get summers off. You'll take 1300 and 1450 then you'll take 1600 and 1701 then 2300 then 2400 and 2500. Only the accelerated students take courses over the summer. They still follow the same sequence and it's still 4 semesters. They just finish a semester earlier.

I start in Fall 2011 at Metro for the generic track. Today I saw in the email they sent out that we have to have our Hep B vaccination record. I have received the 1st two shots in the series and I am waiting to receive my last on in september. Does anyone know if this will bar me from starting in the fall?

Thank you!

No, it won't. As long as the shot is completed 6 months from the date of the first shot you're okay.
