Good advice! I really need to go over how to interview and all that too. I felt like when I originally got my position in LA it was so laid back and casual and I guess I don't know what to expect with Riverside. Definitely everything you have told me about the working atmosphere sounds sooo appealing to me and I hope and pray I can get a job there. All I want is to be happy at my job, regardless of the workload or stress, and to make friends with both coworkers and patients. What should I bring with me? I plan on bringing 1)resume 2)coverletter 3)copy of my degree 4)notepad and binder. Should I have letters of recommendation?

What floor are you on? I have never even been to the hospital! I did the online virtual tour but that's it.

Do you know what area you might be interested in at Riverside? I work Oncology and could give you the nurse manager's name...

As far as I know, Riverside still has a grad program for nurses to be, BSN and MSN programs, tuition is paid for, if you get into this program. I am a student at Capital University for MSN.

I just went to Riverside to try and find a new grad position, even though I have applied for numerous jobs already there. They told me to apply for the critical care fellowship. I feel like I have a good resume i.e. BSN from Kent State University and the Sr. Representative for the college of nursing...but I am sooo insecure about the fact that I have gotten a DUI in my past. Does anyone know how much that will affect my chances of getting in Riverside's new graduate program???

I would do anything...even oncology. I just want to help patients, stay busy, and learn to become an efficient nurse!

Thanks to the nurses at Riverside, for inspiring me to become a nurse. My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer several years ago and spent a lot of time in riverside's oncology unit. They treated him with so much respect and compassion, and seemed to actually love what they were doing that it reflected in my dad's attitude. It just really inspired me to pursue nursing as career, and give myself the feeling that I can impact someone's life in a positive way. So after several years on a waiting list I'm in my first year at Marion Technical College. After graduation I plan to either work at Riverside or Dublin Methodist.

Does anyone know if any of the Ohio Health hospitals are actively looking at new graduates? I am from out of state but got my BSN and graduated with a high GPA. I have applied for several positions throughout Ohio Health and have not even received a phone call from HR. It seems like HR is doing the choosing versus a nurse manager which does not seem right to me.

Good luck on nursing school at MTC! Great school, great instructors (although tough). Well worth the wait to get in! Keep it up and before you know it, you'll be an RN!
