Nurse license plate

  1. Hello, if this question has been asked, feel free to point me to the thread. I was wondering if anyone knows anymore about a nurse license plate in Ohio? Last I saw from ONA was from May and talked about the "possibility" of one. I wasn't sure if there was anymore news about it? Thank you!

I, for one, hope they don't make one.

I don't see MD or lawyer or engineer license plates. Nursing plates seem almost ridiculous as hanging a stethoscope from your rear view mirror.

Need to collect 500 signatures and then have a bill pass the legislature for the nursing license plates to become a reality. Anyone could get these plates. Much like the various University License plates the funds raised by the sale of these license plates would fund various nursing scholarship programs and research grants.

I hate the stehoscope from the rear view mirror. It is highly impractical. The only thing worse is the aids who put pictures of themselves on facebook with a stethoscope around their neck because it makes them look cool. It doesn't.

It is very professional looking and is due to come out July 3 rd . It is to offer opportunity for funding through the funds generated fro scholarships. So, while I honor the thought of not having one- I love the idea that money goes to the Ohio Nurses Foundation and provides money for pre RN and post RN studies!

“We’re very excited to have a nursing license plate in Ohio. This will allow nurses, their families their friends to show support for the nursing profession while contributing to a foundation that promotes the future of nurses. We are proud of the profession and we wanted to provide a way for anyone who supports the profession to show that,” stated Lori Chovanak, CEO of the Ohio Nurses Association and President of the Ohio Nurses Foundation. “We’re very much looking forward to the additional funding that will be realized for the Ohio Nurses Foundation. Currently, the Foundation revenue is distributed to those seeking to become a registered nurse, nurses seeking to advance their education and nurses who are conducting research. We’re hoping the license plate will allow us to expand our support of nursing’s future in Ohio and the quality of care delivered to our public.”
