LPN job outlook for Columbus

U.S.A. Ohio

I have been considering becoming an LPN for some time, either going to columbus states program or Columbus north adult. Just curious as to what Nurses think the job outlook for LPN's is in central ohio as opposed to news storeis etc.

I know that there are not many hospital jobs in the columbus area and would mainly be working in LTC or possibly prison system but would value some input.

I previously graduated from columbus LPN, which use to be at the columbus north adult building. I loved it! It was very intense and I had some pretty tough instructors, But these are things that will help. This school has been around for a long time and does have a good reputation. Honestly when it comes to jobs it is either LTC, homehealth, and a rare prison system job. Some Drs. offices are hiring LPNs now also. The only problem I had with Cols. LPN is if you do not pass a class you have to repeat just that class and cannot go on with the class you started with. Be prepared to study like crazy and have no life for the time you are in school

I forgot to mention they majorly prepare you for the NCLEX, which made it easier to pass!

I heard it was tought, which is why was considering columbus state. Between work and my kid not sure if I could put the time in needed for study. My only other concern is being ableto afford school, my wife is already an lpn and I think that puts me out of reach for just about any finacial aid. I'm sure i'll figure it out been putting it off for a long time and just want to get it done and be a nurse.
