How on earth is UC Accelerated Pathway's application deadline June 1st?

so i was planning on applying to cincy's accelerated pathway (msn) program, and i emailed them yesterday to know whether the deadline was nov. 1st or dec. 1st, since generally the accelerated msn programs are either one of these two deadlines.

the email i got back said "november 1st is not the deadline for fall applicants it is june 1st. "how?!

doesn't the program start in summer 2011?

so how would the application deadline be in june?

this is my top-choice program, so i'm utterly confused here :/

I would apply as soon as possible- deadlines do not matter very much for this program, per se. It is likely that the Phase II June 2011 cohort is probably filling up soon (there are only about 32 students per cohort, with a cohort being class start dates of June or January of every year), so you may be looking at starting January 2012 for phase II if June is full. I would email them back and ask if the June 2011 cohort still has spots open, rather than asking about deadlines. Hope this helps!

Glad to hear that UC is your top choice program. Go for it!

Even if a certain cohort is all filled up, there are generally at least 1-2 last minute openings from previously accepted candidates who, for whatever reason (student visas, funding, family concerns,...), are unable to start the program.

I ended up calling yesterday, and they said they were open for the January 2012 cohort, and they'd take apps until Nov 5th.

So sadly, I don't think I should apply. I mean, what exactly am I going to do from June to December 2011? Stay at home with the parents?

I'd like to get going on the program ASAP anyway
