Hi Angela,

I just wanted to let you know that I was accepted on Friday! Now I just have to work wrapping up the admissions process...the CPR and Financials and all that stuff. I also have to get a game plan together for quitting my job! A little nervous about that one! Anyway, I just thought I would let you know. I will be starting in July! :)

Congratulations!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

I don't know where you live, or what resources you have, but you should check with your local fire department about the Healthcare Provider CPR class! I live in Monroe and was able to take my class through ours for only $6!!! (Monroe's FD may even allow people who don't live in the city to take the class.) Otherwise, you'll have to see when the class is offered at places like Butler Tech, etc. (Which, BTW, is where my card was processed through!) It's pretty expensive to take a formal class (I believe it was $85 through Butler Tech.), and the class times just didn't match up with my availability, so I was pretty excited to find that I could get it through the FD!

Well, that's all the advice I have for now! (Although I would highly recommend that you get your FAFSA filled out ASAP is you want to use government loans, since it's kind of a time-consuming process.) Again, congratulations! This is a very exciting time. Keep me posted on your progress!!!

Hello Everyone...Please answer a few of my doubts...along with updates of experience at the school..

1. Which semester does the clinicals start? Are the clinicals being arranged by the school and where are they at (hospitals/nursing homes...)?

2. Is the school working to get the NLNAC accreditation?

Please shed your thoughts; thank you...

Hi Mantosee!

I'm not sure about whether or not they're seeking NLNAC accreditation. (They don't need it in order for us to be able to sit for the NCLEX.) As far as clinicals go, they start at week 6 during your first term, and they are at LTC facilities. After the first term, they start at week 1 or 2.

Overall, I'm happy with the school and my experiences so far. Some people have complained that the clinicals aren't what they were expecting, and I can see their side. (If you're looking for an absolutely AMAZING clinical experience, I'm afraid you may be a little disappointed.) I, however, have more of an appreciation of the academic side of things. The instructors, IMO, are extremely knowledgeable and have done an excellent job of presenting the information in a way that is easy to understand. So, as I have said in previous posts, it really just depends on what you want out of your school. Hope that helps!

Hi there! I was accepted February 26 to start in July, but was so eager to get started I hurried and got all the little things out of the way. Now, I will be starting in April! About CPR: I signed up and paid for Red Cross, only to be out $50. I signed up for the wrong class, which they would apply towards the right class ($65), but they had none available in Columbus anytime soon. The soonest class was in Dayton at the end of March. So I went to a place in Worthington. It was great! Loved the instructor and owner! Here is the link, if you're interested. http://www.centralohiocpr.com/ Oh, and it is $50, which is cheaper than Red Cross, and they have plenty of classes available. I found that site, and the same evening was there getting certified. Good luck to you at Hondro's and CONGRATS!

Thank you! And I'm attending Hondros in Columbus as well. I attended the info session on Feb 17. I was accepted on Feb 26 to start in July, but found out this last Tuesday that I was bumped up to start in April. I had rushed around getting everything done for a chance to start earlier. Glad it worked out. I am soooo excited, yet very nervous. I have 4 children, and I know that this will be a huge challenge, but I am determined to make it. I have a lot of support from my family which I need in order to succeed. I just wish I would have done this years ago. I'm glad that I found allnurses. It's giving me quite a bit of info, which helps ease the anxiety. I wish you the best of luck!

I completely understand your nervousness! I do not have any children but I will have to quit my full time job in order to attend school. I have a degree in business management and I Have been stuck in transportation for five years. I have a decent job and it pays well but I am not happy. Its not what I want for the rest of my life. I have decided that I do not want to wake up in ten years and regret not doing something that would make me happy.

Keep in touch and good luck.

Hi there flsunshiney! Have you picked your labs yet? If so, we'll have to see if we're in the same one. Congrats! I can't wait to get started and be on my way.

I am so nervous...I picked my labs, but for some reason the times don't match up (like the only ones available were conflicting days/times). I have to go into school Friday to do a few things so I'm hoping they can help me figure it out.

I am excited and nervous to get started too!
