I have done travel nursing off and on for a long time, and I have never been mistreated or snubbed by the staff I've worked with. The staff at my last assignment in California was SUPER!!! Couldn't have asked for a better team of healthcare providers! They were awesome to work with, and treated me just fine! :)

I've heard other travel nurses and agency nurses say they weren't treated well as "outsiders", and that's a shame because we are there to help make their workload lighter by adding to the staff.

Anymore, the pay isn't as high as it used to be, and some agencies housing sucks bigtime, so you've got to be careful which company you travel with, and what type of housing they provide for you. Ask lots of questions, and check out travel nurse forums to read about good companies vs. companies to steer clear from. :)

hello i live here in dayton and work at a hospital in kettering, the anthem has effected us big time :uhoh3: we are always full. I work in cardiac surgical stepdown unit, that isn't officially a stepdown. But I love it and I am currently attending school for my BSN. Julie

I graduated from Kettering. :) Anthem hasn't affected us too much yet. L&D patients are supposed to be able to maintain their delivery plans up until July 1 though.
