Where are the jobs?

Thanks,
I just graduated in 12/2008 from a nursing school in PA. I am going to take my NCLEX exam late February, but few hospitals in this region (philadelphia) seem to be hiring. It may be that the economy has many "retired" nurses returning to work or it may be due to the number of nursing schools in this area, the market is flooded. I am considering the possibility of looking outside Pennsylvania and wondering what the job market is like in Ohio. Are new grads having issues locating employment there as well?

Lisa

The Cleveland and Dayton, Ohio job markets are hopping, you shouldn't have a problem there. Columbus is so/so and Toledo is saturated. Just started the job search myself...Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!

With the current economy, many hospitals here in the Cincinnati area has disbanded a lot of prn staff, float pools and specialty positions. We are all seeing the belt tighten. Hang in there and secure a position and wait for this economy to take an upswing to branch out into perhaps a better position
