question from "old" RN in Ohio

OK, for all you new RN's out there, I've lost track, (1)what is the average starting salary for new RN's in ohio. (2) Do you find that hospitals will help you pay your loans back if you agree to work for them for a few years ?(3) It seems I hear a lot about "bed side nursing", what does this term mean to you as a new nurse. Just woundering. Thanks

I moved your thread to the Ohio Forum so that you get more relevant responses. Good luck to you.

Default Re: question from "old" RN in Ohio
I am in the northeast where starting wages run between 21 and 24 bucks an hour, depending on the hospital.

I do not know of any hospitals in my area that do loan repayment, but I do know many will pay part of one's tuition while they are IN SCHOOL in return for a service agreement after graduation.

As for the last question, I consider "bed side nursing" to be nursing jobs that give direct patient care, for the most part in hospitals/nursing homes.
