I heard that some days they manage to get 50 new applications in the system, some days 150.

It's sad to see the Ohio BON's inadequate handling of new grad ATTs, when the KY BON does it all in about a week.

Look at the economy. They are probably experiencing budget cuts the same as every other Ohio State Agency. I know that doesn't help, but I am sure you will understand when you go out there looking for a job...

I am in California so it may be different. But I called and asked for my ATT and they e-mailed if a few hours later. A lot of people said the testing center had their e-mail wrong and that was why they were not getting it. I got my ATT from them before I got it in the mail from the board.

Yep, same boat here. Graduated on June 12. No ATT yet.

I am COMPLETELY irritated by the OBN! Really-how long does it take? They should know that there are a ton of apps coming in this time of year-and with this economy-they should know that many people need to get this done to get a job.....geez...sorry guys.

In my 'minds' plan-I had thought that I would be sitting for the NCLEX by midjuly-here we are and I am not even 'pending' on the verification page. I check every single day and nothing, nadda, zip. Rediculous!

I think it's a mixture of the economy and also the increased number of new graduates. I graduated from LPN school in Dec 08, I'm in Toledo, and chose to get my license in Michigan. I decided this because there are too many new grads, not enough jobs here. My concern wasn't even so much the lack of state funding for depts like the BON, but if so much competition to get an ATT due to high numbers, how much competition for the dwindling new grad opps? If I were you, I'd be out there working on a job search plan, volunteering or working as a new grad aide or something...not worrying about ATT timing-that will come, but many who passed NCLEX having months to actually get a job. No shortage of new grad nurses, for sure.

I guess I don't understand what you are saying? There isn't any 'competition' for the ATT-we are all entitled to one bc we graduated....its just waiting for them to process all the paperwork that is time consuming. I agree that jobs are scarce-but there are some of us with potential opportunities that are being held up by this wait on the OBN.

No, there is no competition for ATT in the traditional sense, but still numbers up = numbers BON has to work through. And, what is an ATT but to be able to take the NCLEX to be able to WORK as a nurse? I got my ATT very soon after I applied in MI, yet the economy is worse in MI, state funding is in even more of a mess there than OH. The difference, not as many schools cranking out new grads to add to the stack of paperwork at the BON. The competition I was referring to was the step after you pass the NCLEX, and my advice was to take this time to invest in the job search rather than worry about BON timing...whatever, just trying to help and congrats to those who have jobs lined up! Good luck.

I've HAD a job since April, but can't work as an RN until I pass boards, so I'm just waiting and waiting for the ATT so I can finally sit for NCLEX! It's very annoying and frustrating, because I sent my app in ages and ages ago.
