I'm currently a LPN student at Owens. I know that hospitals are generally not hiring LPNs in this area, but how's the market for nursing home jobs? I start my RN in Jan '09, and assumed that I'd work as a LPN while in RN school, but just a little concerned about the job market. I see RNs to be in demand, but not LPNs (at least in the Sun papers). Any need to worry/plan alternatively?
Also, how easy is it to get licensed to work in Michigan, just a few miles north? Is that a long process once I've (hopefully) passed my NCLEX-PN???
Thanks in advance for any info.
