LPN ATS Institute of Technology....

I'm new to this forum =)~ I currently attend ATS Institute of technology in highland heights (richmond heights). I'll be finished with school Sept 08' then Im going right back to the LPN-RN bridge programs which is only another 11 months to become an RN. I'll probably work at Huron in their ICU since its so close to me. I have noticed my RN-BSN programs online that im considering Phoenix, Chamberlain, Indiana State ect most say only they only take 1yr -1yr half to be completed. I am just looking for the fastest route to becoming a CRNA. After completing the BSN program I'll either attend Case's CRNA program or Akron Univ's CRNA program. One thing i like about Cleveland Clinic are the flexible shifts they offer 12's 8's 24hr for 32hr and so on, but i dont this those flexible shifts apply to there more local branches Huron, Lakeview ect.

Hi I just have a few questions for you if you don't mind. Why does ATS have quarter instead of semesters? How do you like the teachers? Do you feel this program will prepare you for the real world? How much does the program cost? How long is the general RN program? Where are the clinical? Sorry for so many questions but I have not received a call back from the admission office yet and I need to get rolling on which school to apply for.

I have attended ATS, I have one semester left. I am currently on a leave of absense with plans to go back this January and complete my last class if its scheduled right so I can finish. My plan is to go to Excelsior/independent study and finish my RN. I already have a 4 year degree, so it would be quicker for me. I don't like the class room instruction well. Huron is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic so you should be able to work the flexible schedules. I currently work at University Hospital in administration. I wish they had the flexible shifts like Cleveland Clinic. I may have to switch over when I complete my education. Let me know if you have any more questions.

ATS will be converted to semesters as of Jan 08 the format used to be 11weeks of school followed by a 2week break.

Yes i feel this program is preparing you for the real world, all the instructors are seasoned nurses, most are also in some way still connected to the hospitals and of current matters.

The RN program in 8 quarters right now 1 quarter is 11weeks since there will be a conversion to semesters the program still be unter 2yrs about 22months with no prereqs =)~ yay.

The clinicals vary Huron, VA Hos, Metro, Nursing Homes....

Have you already taken your NET test?

I have my BA already so they said I don't have to take the NET test. The cost seems a little high but it's cheaper that Bryant & Stratton.

Thats true cost always seemed high to me they seem to have gone from supply and demand long waiting lists for other schools and non for them. There are no prereqs im not sure about Bryant and Stratton, but ATS is pretty much has the only Nursing programs where no prereqs are required.

I wanted to take out a private loan to cover my cost of living and then have another loan or something to cover my cost. I'm not sure if I will be able to do this. I'm going on Wed to fill out my application and to get more information. Thanks for all of your input.
