Kent State Ashtabula Campus

by DONN

Will be starting there this fall in the LPN>RN bridge program. Anyone done it or attended the RN program there? Any insight would be helpful.....

I graduated from the program two years ago and it has served me well. There is the same BS paperwork and projects in all programs. I know several LPN's who did the bridge and were fine. Actually, you have the advantage of being a practicing nurse during the program. It will be fine.

Thanks for the info.. I dont anticipate any problems with making it thru, however yyou are right about the B.S that goes with any course and Im not really looking forward to doing more careplans but I work in acute care med/surg and all of our care plans are on computer so I think that will be of immense help when we start in with those things. As far as whats necessary for school I would say you need to be CPR certified, high school and LPN school transcripts, the standard shots, child abuse clearance, and some other things that elude me right at this moment. Of course if you are certified in telemetry, ACLS or Pals would also help out. I am really anxious to get my RN license but the thoughts of facing school again, well I just try to blot that out of mind......

i always feel overwhelmed the first few weeks of a new semester, then i settle down (after the first test, ect.). i think already being a nurse is going to help you immensely!
good luck...

What is your schedule like? I applied when I got out of my lpn class (back in 03'..lol) and I looked at the schedule and had no idea how i was going to work AND go to school full time AGAIN....

Now I have a 1 y/o and I'd have to put him in some sort of childcare when I go.. so I'm curious what the class schedule is like...
TIA
Becky

agency II is one lecture from 9-11 (or 12 if we have lab that week) and an 8 hour clinical on a different day. also, for 1/2 the semester students have to take psych nursing & agency II & that's 4 days of school (2 clinicals & 2 lecture days) ......
do you have your general classes done? if not, my suggestion is to work on thoughs first!
