Job Search Efforts ?

Hello !
Just wondering how many new grads and newly licensed grads are out there with no nursing experience and wanting to land that first job in the Cincy /Dayton area...I have sent out so many applications this past week and tried to talk to HR wherever I could with nary a squeak out of any of them!
Can all of us share our methods and efforts just to see what else we could be doing that would be more effective?
Thanks all

Default Re: Job Search Efforts ?
I dont know about the Cincy/dayton job market but the Cleveland market is saturated but jobs are still open. Employers just have a ton of options to choose from!

I have found a great website that pulls from a lot of sites that may be helpful.... www.ohiomeansjobs.com it is sponsored by the state. It pulls from monster, newspapers, career builder etc.

My biggest suggestion is to take a peek at your resume...are there errors on it? Try changing the format of it.

Keep your head up! You will land a job soon. Also try contacting your school to see if they have any career finder assistance.

Question Re: Job Search Efforts in Cincy and Dayton areas?
Hey Stehulak7..thanks for the reply! and the website: have been looking at it and it seems very comprehensive!

About the resume, I was lucky enough to have an HR recruiter from one of the hospitals look at my resume and she tweaked it a bit and said it was good to go now , so thats what i have been using wherever i apply

Cant believe one cannot land a job as a nurse these days.

I was also wondering what is the best way to get experience in

1. nursing homes and assisted living and long term living facilities.
2. home care nursing

I am very open to volunteering for a while in order to ensure that I am indeed suited to work in these areas but have no connections, as am new to the city...any one, please advise?!!!!
