HELP !!!CPat test for Cincinnati Galen College of Nursing

Hello !
I am a 1st time poster so sorry if this is long...I am testing at Cincinnati Galen College of Nursing for RN program.
I am 35 years old and have been out of school forever . I have my CPat on March 9th and am freaking out. I have study material but its not sinking in and the math...I just keep reaching for the calculator.
My question is...Is there a ton of math questions ? what do you recommend that I know (ie. division long hand, common denominators, fractions etc) ?

I am in a panic and am almost thinking of not taking the test!! Im very scared to be a student at this age as it is. The one thing I do know is that when I shadow at the local hospital, I love it !!

Please any suggestions or those who have taken the test please give me as much detail as points to study

Thanks in advance.

Hello. First of all. You are not too old to return to school. I was 36 when I decided to return to school for nursing. I thought I would be the oldest student in the class. I was not the oldest. There were women in my class that were 50 +. My suggestion is if you can find a community college that offers a refresher class in the basics. The college I attended it was called the ABLE class. I needed that class and I do believe it was free. Dont give up on your dream. You can do it by being determined. I was determined to do it. Thank god I did because now my husband is about to loose his job. Go for your dream and be determined. Also I suggest a community college because the cost is much cheaper. Good luck to you and hope to hear how you are doing.

I went to math.com and did all their online refresher pages/tests. You need to know how to add/subtract/multiply/divide regular numbers and numbers with decimals. There were a lot of fractions questions like 1/3 + 5/8 or 1/3 x 5/8. A few "find the average" questions. You receive no penalty for marking wrong answers so go fast and...if one minute comes around fill in the blanks with whatever!

When you say no penalty for marking wrong answers...they dont count against you even though they are wrong ? but they count against you if you skip them ? I have been up studying for what seems like days....My test is tomorrow at 5pm and Im really not processing logical things right now...so bear with me LOL
I am taking this test for the 2nd time and have really studied my butt off.

Any last words of wisdom ?
