Good Sam in Dayton

Hi fellow Ohio Nurses!!!
Can anyone tell me what it is like to work at Good Sam? ParB? I interviewed for the Ortho med/Surg floor, and from what I was tols and saw, it seems like a fantastic place. Anyone have any input?
Thanks!!

I've done a couple of clinicals there, and from a student's standpoint, I hated the place! None of the nurses on the unit's I was on were nice, friendly, or helpful. Maybe since you are not a student, things will be different.

Thanks for the reply. I think a student's view point is great input. Chances are if they treat students that way, they might treat orientees that way. But then again, maybe not. I fell nursing students shopuld be treated good-- they will be nurses one day, and we need all the nurses we can get.

I really like Good Sam. (I'm a student too) A friend of mine who just graduated from nursing school got a job there & she absolutely loves it.

I did clinicals at Good Sam as a student and I was always impressed. The nurses were always really nice to our group and the hospital was much cleaner than others we had been to. I also know new grads who work there and love it. I think the fit of the hospital depends on ones personality. My only beef with Good Sam was having to ride the shuttle, I had to get there 20 minutes early.

Shuttle??? They did not tell me anything about that in the interview!! I had to ride a shuttle when I worked at Children's Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. I hated it!!!
Anyhow, I turned them down. At least for the weekend position. I may interview for a few others.
