Galen Bursing School Cincinnati Info

I looked into them a while back. I just called the school and set up a date and time to meet with the admissions rep and tour the school. I was mildy impressed. They are definitely in a time of growth, but I didn't like the fact that the entire school was in 1/2 a floor in an office building. Their lists of schools that they go to for clinicals was also small if I remember correctly. If I were you, I'd call the school and ask them your question. Try to get a straight answer out of them. Some schools will 'him and haw' (sp?) around the question, because they want you to attend there and thus get your money. If you like the answer you get, it'd be worth the time to go and check them out in person. While you're there, see if you can chat with some current students. That's where you'll get some real answers. I spoke to a couple of students and the opinions on the school were mixed. Best of luck to you on your search for a quality nursing school that doesn't have the LONG waiting list. Have you tried any of the hospital programs (Christ/Good Sam)? Just a thought...

" I attended Galen and they have alot of growing i was in the second class that started Jan 28 and I dropped it today A &P structor is not doing a good jod over half the students have dropped a&p you have to study 4-5 chap for lecture exam review sheets come 3 day before exam it was a 21 month program now there changing it to a 24 month program but there are not making accomadation for the student that there now it is very expensive i got the most in fincial aid and i still had to pay between 400-787 per month. I was not getting what i needed books are not included in tution I bought my books now they are changing the book list I cant afford to buy new book over and over again because they dont know what there doing. My advise find another school. "

I'm currently enrolled. You need to call and speak with Wendy Cappallelo (spelling) at the school, you can find the number on the Galen website. I've heard many things. Most people only want to tell me the bad, But I've spoken to a poster/moderator on this site that was actually a teacher at Galen, and they stated they loved the school and so did their students some of which are still in contact with them. Depending on where you want to go with you education after needs some consideration. Make sure the college you want to attend later will accept the credits from your ADN school/college. Galen is working on accreditation and partnerships with local colleges. I start July 28th. We have quite a few students in my starting class that are from other schools who were unhappy. I won't mention names but they have been mentioned before a spoke of as wonderful schools. You should call and and speak Wendy and go in and take a tour so you can judge for yourself

I'm in Galen's first class and I love it. I'm currently an LPN, and I have 6 months until we graduate. As with any new school, there are problems that will take time to work out. I think that like any other school, you get out what you put in. The best thing about the school (at least when I started) was the very short waiting list, I registered a month before classes started. its really not a bad school, and the whole staff is very helpful.
