Does anyone know about the nursing program at Stark State?

I am currrently in the process of admission to Aultman College. But I started checking numbers and with the loans I already have out it's pretty much smarter to go to Stark State rather than Aultman, WAAAAY cheaper. Anyhow, I already am enrolled at Stark State, but I just didn't know if you just sign up for pre-req classes, like A&P, CHM...etc, or do I have to do a change of major? I read on their website but Im even more confused now!

I understand that you need your pre-reqs done before entering into the nursing program but what is your major until then, pre nursing? And are you for sure going to get into the nursing program after taking all the required courses?

Is this a dumb question?

Hey I Graduated from Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences It is a really good program because it is in the hospital the staff know what they are doing and I got enough experience to be confident in my trade. I did however do my pre reqs @ stark state but the waiting list was so long I was one of the ones who ran to aultman when they opened their adn program. It does cost more but they get you into the program a lot quicker than stark state (they had a 2 year wait to get accepted into the nursing program and that was after the pre reqs where met) Aultman got me in and out. I dont know if this helped It is just my personal experience.

Thanks for your reply! It did help! Although At Stark State you only need, I think don't quote me, three classes before being put on the waitlist. Then you do your pre-reqs while waiting, which would take just about that much time if I would go less than half-time.

I did go to open house at Aultman and it was a very, very nice facility and seemed so much smaller than most school! I did really like it! I just had to think about money, again. I already have, almost(graduate next year) an associates degree so I have plus 12,000 in loans already! And im already at Stark State. Even though I sent all my info. to Aultman, spent the application fee, and took the required CPR class.
