Yes I am currently with maxim and they talk a good game, but they give shifts to their favorites. If you do not kiss butt no shifts for you. Sorry

I interviewed there year before last. Got hired, oriented then no one called me for work nor returned my calls. Always nice when that happens so in a word, no I did not get work.

I work for Maxim in Toledo OH and it seems that sometimes they don't have the work for home care. I haven't worked facilities for a while. Is anyone going to write to the Ohio senate members to fight the decrease or reimbursement for skilled nurses (RN, LPN)?

There is a real push right now for most health care facilities to be "agency-free". It is a real braggng point for them. Where I live, agency use is almost non-existant and most nursing agencies have closed up shop. I suspect most will follow this path. Hospitals and nursing homes don't want agency staff anymore because they feel that the quality of care delivered is inconsistant and the outrageous cost of staffing an agency nurse is prohibitive in these days of trimming the budget to the bare bones. There was a time when agencies were booming with business and an agency nurse could work practically round the clock 7 days a week if she/he wanted to. Now it is tough to get any shifts at all. Probably better to bite the bullet and sign on with the facility of your choice for consistent work schedules and paychecks. Agencies are quickly becoming a thing of the past. I know our hospital hasn't used agency in YEARS. Tough in the beginning, but they eventually hired great staff and nobody in the whole place misses agency staff at all! All the department managers and other management staff put on uniforms and WORKED until they had adequate staff. Even the DON worked! Imagine that!!
