The NEALP is just 10,000 max. Gotta commit for 2 yrs to get the whole 10k.. I knwo you can get the 10k upfront.. at regional hosp.. but to my knowledge not at main campus.

Hi! I just graduated from an accelerated nursing program and will be starting at the Clinic as a new grad. I did NOT take the money in advance. What I did was take the position once I graduated...and they are STILL offering the 10K in loan reimbursement. It is a better deal to WAIT and take the money when you start with them. What they do is pay you over two years for the total of 10K. It is in each pay check. If you do NOT take the money in advance, they do NOT require you to pay it back if you leave prior to two years. So...it is better to just take the money when you start...not in advance.

I would seriously look into Kent State accelerated program. They just received a 100,000 grant just for accelerated students. www.kent.edu it's on their home page! And you can do internship (grant money) or maybe an assistanceship and not take out loans. There is money out there and their accelerated program is not that long!

I am in the FNP program and they are just wonderful at the college of nursing and really help their students out at any level. And KSU is just a straight shot from Y-town in less than 50 minutes. I use to travel from the OH/PA line work in Y-town and attend school at KSU. So, it's do-able!

Speaking only of the main campus loan repayment program (info recieved in 2006), you can request info and paperwork during your 90 day new hire time which must be turned in before the end of your new hire time. You must fill out the paper work and have it notorized return them with copies of your student loan showing how much you owe. They then pay you about 200 (10,000 (5,000 per year for 2 yrs) devided by 48 pays (2pays per month for 2 yrs))per pay for laon repayment. You recieve this as long as you stay employed at main campus in an inpatient position. If you move to a regional or outpatient setting then the payments stop. Money already paid does not have to be repaid. Hope this helps.
