Re: Christ Hospital School of Nursing Cincinnati
Then you saw me there! I was the heavy-set gal who was spouting about what a fantastic choice Christ is, and how they always are standing behind you not matter what your challenge is. That's very true, I have found.
Even if you sign the tuition benefit agreement, you can later go somewhere else if you can get the money together to buy the contract out, or if the other hospital will pay something towards it (many will).
We have a pediatric rotation for five weeks, we don't go to the NICU, but you can go into the critical care internship program after your time at Christ, and they will train you to be ready for such assignments. You might get your role transition class at Children's, if you ask for it, and can then focus on things like that more.
It does stink that they don't have the financial aid available yet, but I know they talked about the other forms of aid they have available to students for right now.
Well, I wish you the best, no matter which place you choose. I've really enjoyed my time at Christ College. It has been very hard, tiring, but I feel I have learned so much. I am frantically getting prepared for the HESI tests and NCLEX prep stuff now, and for role transition this summer. I've come so very far and have maintained an A average while still driving over an hour and having a home life with my husband and three daughters. It hasn't been easy to do, but this means an awful lot for us. I have never had a time when I could not go to someone in this program and ask for help and receive it. They have bugs in their system, as they transition to a college from a diploma school, but they do care and work hard to develop excellent nurses.
Congrats on your exciting future!!
