Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH

Does anyone work there? I am looking for any and all information about working for Christ. I know they have split from the Health Alliance. They have agreed to pay for my nursing school in full if I sign a contract to work for them for 3 years upon my graduation. However, if it's a horrible place to work, perhaps I should reconsider. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Amanda

Nobody has any information about this hospital? I know several nurses, but none of them work at Christ. Again, any help would be appreciated.

Okay, I'll bite.....

I was hesitant to reply as I'm not a nurse at Christ, but a nursing student who live about 30 seconds from Christ. Some the students in my program have clinicals and work there, and say nice things about it. From what I hear, it's a nice place to work, especialy if your interests are geared toward cardiology as Christ is the "Heart Hospital" in Cincinnati.

Also heard that it's clean, and the management seems to work with the nurses scheduling needs. I have a friend who works three twelves and picks up one 4 hour shift ( 7-11, 4-8, 12-4) a week in overtime. That's about all I know. I have never geard anything negative about Christ. I'm sorry my info isn't firsthand, but I hope it helps anyway.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not sure what specialty I'll be interested in, although the heart was always very interesting to me in my A&P classes. That's great that the management works with your friend's scheduling needs. I'm hoping to work 3 12 hour shifts and pick up some overtime as well when I get out of school. The extra money will sure help out after two years of not working (while in school). If you don't mind my asking, what nursing program do you attend? Again, thank you for your reply!

Don't mind at all.
I'm a first year 3 third semester (once this week's spring break ends)ADN student at UC Raymond Walters College in Blue Ash. I am actually bored out of my mind with no home work to do this week, but I'm sure Acute Care Clinicals (I'll be at Mercy Mt. Airy next quarter) will more than make up for it.

How do you like it at UC Raymond Walters? I haven't heard too much about their program, but I'm sure it's great. I went to UC Main campus for 3 years in their Athletic Training program before I decided that wasn't my calling. Where have you done your clinicals thus far? Was there a long waiting list for you to get into the nursing program there? Good luck next semester with acute care!

Raymond Walters is cool. It's not anything like some of the programs I hear of where the instructors are there to make life miserable. They are helpful, and ther actually seem to care about us as students as well as people.
I think it's funny however that I attended the Univ. Of Louisville for almost 3 years as an Exercise Science major before I came home to go to UC for nursing.....So far our clinical assisgments have been in the nursing home setting for first and second quarter, so this quarter will be very different. Thanks for the luck....

Thanks SShannon81,

How do you like it there? MIL works at Mercy, but is not a nurse. School restarts Monday so we'll see....
