Hey,

I also just found out last Friday that I made it in! I'm so excited. I have a question for someone who is in or was in the program. If you do the two year track, do you have time to work? Is there any jobs available to the students in the hospital. Also, did anyone choose the option of signing a contract for $20,000?

Hey,

I just also found out I got in! I'm super excited. I have waited so long and am so relieved. I have a couple questions;

1. If you choose to take the two year track are you able to work at the same time?
2. Does the hospital offer any jobs for the nursing students?
3. Could anyone tell me more about the contract you sign for your tuition to be payed for?

Thanks for putting up this wonderful post, I've been dying to talk to people from the school.

Hello,

I found out last Friday that I got in also! Yay, I'm so excited. I have a couple questions if anyone could help me;

1. If you take the two year route are you able to work?
2. Does the hospital offer any jobs to students?
3. Did anyone sign the 3 yr contract to pay for their tuition? If so could you tell me more about it?

Thanks for putting this post up, I've been yearning to talk to students from the program.

Leaelina,
Congratulations on your acceptance!! Isn't it so exciting?!? Are you going to the information session on the 29th (this Saturday)? That would be a great chance to talk to the people there and get their answers to your questions. I'll tell you what I know so far...

1. I don't know if you'd be able to work doing the two-year track. If you were, I'd assume it would be part-time and not a whole lot of hours.

2. In the packet I have from them, it says that there is a job board and the hospital has numerous positions available to students. FYI, on Christ's website, I found a ton of Patient Care Assistant positions that are available to nursing students.

https://www.thechristhospital.com/Ca...spx?id=7&sid=1

3. I haven't signed the Tuition Benefit Agreement yet, but will as soon as they are sent out. Did you get a Financial Aid packet? There's a whole page in there about that. Very informative.

Sorry I don't know too much more... since I am not a current student yet... best of luck to you!

Leaelina,

I forgot to add this, but you can call Vicky Gaffney (the Assistant Dean of Student Services) and ask her your questions. That's what I did and she was extremely helpful. Her email is vicki.gaffney@thechristcollege.org and her number is 513-585-2052 . Good luck!

How many of you are planning on singing the Tuition Benefit Agreement? I took it from the information session that we are paid comparably to other nurses, and we are just taxed on the money each pay. I find it odd that not many people have replied to the posts about working at Christ or attending college there. If you look at other Cincinnati posts many people recommend Univeristy, Good Sam and other hospitals as places to work, but not much is mentioned about Christ. I have heard great things about Christ and even had my gallbladder removed there last year. I'm happy that in July they will have full approval on the ONB website.

I too found it very odd that hardly anyone was replying to the threads about working at Christ. I have started a couple of threads about this topic, with hardly any replies. I have heard amazing things about Christ. I am definately signing the tuition benefit agreement. I figure it would be nice to have a guaranteed job right out of school. And even if I chose to leave Christ, I'd have 3 solid years of expericence on my resume. I also like that we are treated the same as any other RN who works there (able to pick our unit, pay is the same, etc), and that they also provide tuition reimbursement for the BSN degree (although I'm sure most hospitals do this). I can't even describe out excited/anxious I am to be starting Christ this August. Like you, I am very glad they will have full approval by July as well. It seemed like the OBN had very good things to say about the program. So healthlink, have you decided to attend Christ, or are you still trying to figure it out between there and Good Sam? Okay, time for bed...

I plan on signing the tuition benefit agreement also! I talked to one of the ladies after the talk last Saturday and she said it is truly is a great way to get through nursing school. I would have to agree, it sounds too good to be true! Has anyone applied for any jobs at Christ to work for during school? I applied for a patient escort job and got an email back saying that they have narrowed their candidate pool to those who best fit the requirement of the position. The only requirement mentioned was a high school diploma.

Well, I'm also very excited to start in August. I will be taking the three year route, what route do you think you guys might take?
