C.E. sources needed.

by billzie

Howdy folks,
my wife and I (both RNs) moved to SE Ohio, Athens, from Chicago a little over a year ago. We came from a large hosp that offered all kinds of potential C.E. thougout the year and throughout the system. The system required X amount of C.E. hours per year even though the state did not. We are now in a part of Ohio with very little professional competition, hence, some of the perks of being in a city or big hosp don't exist.
Sooo,
Does anyone know of any good and preferably cheap/free sources for Ohio certified C.E.?
Any help is appreciated, thanks, Bill.

Ohio requires 24 CEU / q 2 years. You can do them all by correspondence course if you like. Sometimes I just get a 30 hour course and get it done with all at once.

I use:
http://nursingeducationofamerica.org/
http://www.nursece.com/

Remember to do the one hour mandatory Ohio Law.

Our local community college has CE offerings & there are a few that you can do over the web. http://www.sinclair.edu/academics/al...sing/index.cfm

Go to www.medscape.com, "medscape today". Free CEU's in 1-4 hour increments. Just print text, and you can even go to test questions, print them, then when you go back online you just go to test questions, fill in answers, and print certificate. Haven't found anything there yet that covers required nursing law though. It's great to pick up a few here and there if you don't have a lot of time all at once, plus you can really vary your knowledge/learning by the many different topics offered. I really enjoy it for the variety.
